Willy, so my 935kg is with a 75kg driver ie the car is around 860kg? Every days a school day as they say. Didnt know.

My wee VTS = 935kg with 130 bhp therefore around 139bhp per ton but by the time you add approx 80 kg for the average male driver, approx 128bhp per ton.

Id never pay that much for insurance. Daylight robbery/legalised theft.

You have to do it like (most of) the rest of us. Progression in level of performance of your cars and build up of no claims. I had to drive my mams 1.2 until 22. So what. At least I had wheels. At least you have your own car.

Try elephant and getting your own policy with your mother as a second driver (often slashes the quote). Tbh though, its not gonna be cheap at 18 and with no no claims. Youre probably looking at £2k+. Id stick with the 1.2 and build up some no claims. Its no good being on your mothers...

Is there any way to find out who a car is insured with? Dunno if it would require someone who works for an insurance company. Theres a car round my way with all sorts of mods and I know for a fact that they arent declared. Ordinarily Id just stay out of this sort of thing but Im itching...
