Black stuff!

What is the crap they put down on the roads!! This is the first year Ive noticed it but my car is getting covered in this black sh!ite that sprays up the side of my car!!!! It aint mud and isnt grit/salt?!?!?!

Its doing my nut trying to keep it clean...aaaaarrgggghhh!!

I have to agree.

My car is fecking filthy along the sills and the rear wheels and boot are minging. The front isnt that bad really.

Definetely wasnt like this last year.

One week of morning driving and its covered in black dirt.

At least they salt the roads where you guys are.

Down here they dont do it until its way too late!

Too busy dishing out money at the home office to worry about the state of the roads down here!

I know what you mean, black sh!te on the front, down the sides, on the back, in the wheels. Still at least its made my number plate bearly readable. Wonder if this will protect me from the speed cameras?...

Ive noticed that most peoples number plates are getting hard to read.

Youre really supposed to keep it clean but as theyre so many dirty ones out there, they couldnt pull over everyone. Leave it black!

Could it be a new type of de-icer??

Ive seen this on the continent... where they spray their roads, as opposed to dropping feckin rocks everywhere!

Much prefer washable black sludge than rock salt chips...

(PS Im usually wrong about everything so dont take the piss if I am wrong!)

You could be right about the new de-icer, I really dont remember the black cruddy annoying shat black stuff previous winters.

I supposed the best things to do is protect your paint with some wax and the same for your alloys!!!

This black stuff may be the stuff I;ve read in the papers. Safecote is on trial on UK roads. Apperently is more environmentally friendly and 82% less corrosive than salt and doesnt cake up in your wheel arches!! or it could be just more dirt on the roads than usual........

If it is the new safecote, its welcome, as its better than rock salt (stone chip-tastic)....

.... but I get the feeling its making the roads a bit more slippery?
