    Sealant for crank bearing cap

I need to order sealant to reseal the rear main bearing cap. Due to the arrangement, I want a proper cartridge that goes in a gun, as opposed to a toothpaste tube. Renault want £50 for it with no info of what it is. Can anyone advise if it's normal RTV or something more specialised?

172 Cup - which parts are specific to the cup?

I'm looking for some help from the collective experience of CS! 172 Cup parts (I think) fall into three categories: Parts which are the same as a Ph2 172 (for example the sideskirts) Parts which are the same as a base model clio (windscreen) Parts which were bespoke to the cup (alternator...

    Renault parts software

How does one figure out the codes? Are they chassis number codes, or build codes on the car somewhere?

    Renault parts software

Is there a source of the renault parts catalogue covering up to 2003? Looking at doing some tedious cross referencing, so really need access myself rather than someone who's happy to look up the occasional part. Cheers

182 cup pack rear axle - any pics?

I believe the cup packed 182s had additional strengthing plates on the rear axle and a larger torsion bar. I've seen plenty of mention on the forum but no solid info on the differences. Does anyone have any pics, or know well enough what it looks like to find some on google? Cheers

Repair panel - between inner chassis leg and sill, behind jacking point - Available?

Does anyone know if it's possible to buy the panel which ties the sill and the chassis leg together at the bottom of the bulkhead? Mines had the usual jacking damage both on the horizontal face and the sill flange folded over. Cheers

    Blasting and coating prices.

I mean you'd think that would work, wouldn't you? Sadly it's like trying to get a quote from a tradesman without losing an evening of your life. Some industries just wont. I suspect the big thing is more places are industrial and cba with having a decent online presence or someone doing...

    Blasting and coating prices.

Oh they undoubtedly will before taking on the work, but rather than drive round three places all of which are an hours drive away, with a boot full of crap, if I can get some ballpark for what folk are paying I can probably stop at the first place. Cheers for the info on the axle

    Blasting and coating prices.

What prices have folk been paying for blasting and coating car parts? Most places seem to want to see the stuff before quoting, which isn't ideal in the current conditions. I've also no idea what is and isn't reasonable as I've not had anything done in years. Considering doing subframe and...

EH?. . . WHAT?... Sound deadening.

The next step is a mass based damper on top of the foam to absorb the sound energy. On top of the foam so that it is decoupled from the movement of the panel. Mass loaded vinyl seems the common choice. In my research so far, I don't intend using it everywhere, but places like the boot floor, or...

    Adeys F4RT Twingo GT

Oh absolutely, I've done it with vauxhall and VW in the past, it's always a nice feeling when you find the perfect part, or better still, combination of parts like yout suspected driveshaft situation. Makes a refreshing change from throwing money at it, or resorting to a hack job!

Grille badge - how to change and is it the same as other models?

My Renault diamond on the front grille has been (badly) sprayed anthracite and then stonechipped and I'd like to go back to stock. Can these be removed from the grille? Are they the same as base model cars? Anyone know what they cost new? Thanks

EH?. . . WHAT?... Sound deadening.

I'm about to do this on another car of mine, where all the tar pads had broken up and the underlay was jute felt. Can you tell me how rip/crush resistant the foam is? Thanks
