I need to order sealant to reseal the rear main bearing cap. Due to the arrangement, I want a proper cartridge that goes in a gun, as opposed to a toothpaste tube. Renault want £50 for it with no info of what it is. Can anyone advise if it's normal RTV or something more specialised?

How does one figure out the codes? Are they chassis number codes, or build codes on the car somewhere?

Is there a source of the renault parts catalogue covering up to 2003? Looking at doing some tedious cross referencing, so really need access myself rather than someone who's happy to look up the occasional part. Cheers

I believe the cup packed 182s had additional strengthing plates on the rear axle and a larger torsion bar. I've seen plenty of mention on the forum but no solid info on the differences. Does anyone have any pics, or know well enough what it looks like to find some on google? Cheers

Does anyone know if it's possible to buy the panel which ties the sill and the chassis leg together at the bottom of the bulkhead? Mines had the usual jacking damage both on the horizontal face and the sill flange folded over. Cheers

Oh absolutely, I've done it with vauxhall and VW in the past, it's always a nice feeling when you find the perfect part, or better still, combination of parts like yout suspected driveshaft situation. Makes a refreshing change from throwing money at it, or resorting to a hack job!
