I'm wondering if there are any pads which work acceptably from cold, survive on track on a standard power 172 and have R90 European approval?
EBC Yellowstuff do, I've emailed them to confirm bluestuff and they arent approved.

Those folk with quick release front bumpers for loading cars onto trailers etc, can you post some pics of what you've used to fasten it and where?
Mine touches on the ramps as it is, and in due course I'd like to add a splitter so it will need to come off for loading.

Plywood is fairly common to be honest, the planks under F1 cars in the 90s were ply! It's a nice, stiff, thin and cheap material. Alucore is also used, as obviously is foam cored carbon.

The problem is that to make it work it needs to run so low you can't get it on and off a trailer, jack, anything, its just a PITA. Also without MAJOR surgery, you're pretty much out of suspension travel and your geometry is ruined, which is too much compromise IMHO.

I've done a set with their "direct fit" morimoto mini 3.0 and they're too big for the majority of housings. I was lucky that I *just* had room, but for the majority of headlights I'd go the odl way and cut the bowl to mount them.
