In the end I got these:

M8x70 self colour cap head bolts
And some repair washers (penny washers)
and then these...
regardless of the magnitude of the difference, I couldnt bring myself to spend severl hundred on a set of wheels which made the car worse, purely for the sake of aesthetics. If that was my concern, I'd fit cup turinis in 16s and be done with it.
For that reason, since dropping to 15s is a...
even bolt in needs feet welded into the car. The difference is very small indeed compared to that of fitting a cage of any sort.
There are issues with road use of roll cages (mainly bashing your skull in) so read up on those, ensure your seats and harnesses are appropriate, the cage is...
Ive got the PMS spherical kit in mine, but had black polys in the front, purple in the dogbone etc. Tried various polybushes in a multitube of cars and tbh theyre never right unless they're static like the dogbone or clio arb ends.
I guess that makes me a loser then, I'm busy removing the f**ked polybushes and going back to standard as the design premise behind them is awful and they never work properly for long.
I want to keep the standard boot latch, if I was to cut it out I'd want to go for pins.
Likewise the front doors, I could cut chunks out of them, but unless you go poly windows you need something to mount the door handle and window regulator to.
I know there are LOADS of places I could lose...
I had an N plater in green, awesome car. The only things I didnt like were FWD in a heavy saloon with lots of torque and 23mpg.
It was invisible to police, I swear.
Hmm, I'm off back through your thread to see what I have that you dont!
Plastic windows
EPAS
Composite shelled buckets
Smaller battery
Every little helps!
I wound up with the car sat on its balljoints on two trolley jacks with the scissor jack out of my daily to push the arb up into place. Slotted in perfectly with everything at ride height. Another spectacularly stupid piece of French design.
You only see the benefit of the 360bhp you currently have about once a week, but it didnt stop you spending about 10k more than the equivalent diesel, or 2.0tfsi A3.....
I've had my wishbones off the car and have now refitted them, but I'm really struggling to get the arb ends back into place so I can fit the clamps.
To the best of my knowledge its all standard 172 spec, barring purple polybushes.
Anyone got a method which works?
Cheers
I tow the clio on a 300kg single axle trailer behind a VW bora. Not the most accomplished tow car, but gets the job done with no drama. I'd happily tow with any of the VAG PD engined stuff tbh. An old A4 estate would be ideal.
