Iv fitted hundreds of parrots and never removed the dash. Just remove the various trims (under steering colum etc) and cable tie the wire to somthing else.

Sounds like you have had a new screen sifted without the sensor. I take it your auto lights don't work either? To clarify, to turn auto wipers on you go down one click. It then wipes when necessary. The adjustment on the wiper switch is to adjust the sensitivity.
