Hi guys, It's the owner of the V70R here.
Thanks for the comments, they're very kind and made my day! The lump is actually the 2.3 HPT that was used in the 850/x70 T5/T-5R/R cars. My one has a slightly bigger turbo than all the rest. With a full exhaust, I/C, remap and flowed head these engines...
It belongs to a mate, I was doing the superb video work. Lol.
It is quick though, just never stops pulling.
100% worth it Fred! You may find a goldmine of power to liberate:evil:
Isn't that what I said?
And yes, horribly thirsty. Averages about 22mpg.
Worth it for the 5-pot warble though ;) the video does it no justice, I'll try to get a better one.
Definitely worthwhile. Lightness is key to performance. Especially when you have little power.
As Daniel says, keep it simple so you can put it back in come sale time. All of the heavy bits are easily removed / replaced anyway.
As for seats, bimarco futura's. SEX.
How do you have the sub wired? It should be from the positive of one channel, to the negative of the other channel... Assuming your amp is bridgeable?
I'd suggest asking someone that lives nearby / an audio shop to help you out. It can end up costing you a whole lot more melting stuff by...
Hmm..... I don't want to get soaked every time I drive it but it looks crappy with the roof lining in. Decisions! I suppose if I take it out and it dies get bad, I can always bond it back in.
Re: I want my Clio o breathe better.. What options are there?
None of them are as good as the standard setup. The ONLY induction setup that's worth the money (other than itb's) is the JMS inlet.
2.5 litre 5-pot turbo (very similar to the engine used in the focus st)
It's got a few mods, new exhaust manifold, inlet manifold, turbo housing, throttle body, Decat and milltek system. Running something around 275 - 280hp.
White looks so good on clio's. If I ever need to get a respray, I'd be hard pushed to turn White down.
Also really like the carbon. Looks great with the dark wheels.
Very few alu bonnets left now.
I'd imagine that the standard bonnet with the skin taken out and aero catches wouldn't weigh much more than the carbon one?
I've stripped the back of the car out, but left the roof lining in as I'd read about condensation issues?
Can anyone that has stripped their roof lining out let me know how bad it is? The car is my daily so I definitely don't want to be dripped on all the time.
I think it's different with a DCI though.... Then you have a nice looking car that's economical. But, being as he's only in a 1.2 for insurance reasons, then there's no point spending loads of money, only to change car ASAP.
No point at all making a rep IMO. You just look like a dick when it's slow.
Save your money mate. You can make non-sports look great and handle superbly for very little money. Then you can chuck it around, maybe even do some track days and learn how to drive it.
As above, I'm going to order a yozza on Thursday but I can't decide whether to go stealth race or race....
I don't like it hanging down below the bumper which is what's putting me off the race. Has anyone recessed one?
It can't realistically weigh much?
My only issue at the moment is what to do about my rear speakers. I might make up some light weight mounts for them.
