Perhaps cool for a day or two.
Until you pop to the shops or visit your nan and feel like you're trying too hard to be 18 again.
Acceptable if reasonably standard aesthetically, with an engine transplant.
Not acceptable IMO if you are going to fit a luminescent lanyard to your keys, make it...
The older the cars get, the less important they are - from a manufacturers point of view.
Renault aren't obliged to continue supplying 1*2 parts at all, but do so as there is still demand. The quantity of parts they have produced are lower in number, thus unit costs increase.
I've an alloy wheel with a fairly substantial flat spot.
Could any members within the South West recommend a company that can straighten wheels?
I'm not looking for a bodyshop/wheel painter. The face is fine still. It's the rear of the wheel that's been knocked in a pot hole. I would take a...
Yeah, your biggest problem is everyone now thinks their 205 is worth thousands. People are chancing their arm advertising a ropey example up there with the nicer original vehicles.
Weird isn't it, when you see people like that and in reality he would have likely 'only' been in his mid 40s when he bought it if he was 70 (for arguments sake).
I should really check what I insure my 205 for. I know I got an agreed valuation of some sort when I first started insuring it with Greenlight and modifications are on a like for like basis with each one having a figure against it for replacement.
As you say 205 values have increased and even...
Does sound like a dead battery. It standing for a while and you then starting it but not using it and turning it off can mean it's now not got sufficient juice to start again if it's an old battery that doesn't hold charge.
As mentioned, get some leads and jump it with your vehicle. Do you...
Noticed an occasional 'buzz' coming from my 197 engine bay recently. It's a faint noise - almost as if it's a very quiet, fucked horn. Similar to a washer pump buzz.
It's occasional, every several seconds it's a faint, single burst. I've noticed it whilst driving and idling.
Any suggestions...
Will be worth around a pint of premium lager at a metal merchants by weighing it in, so it may well be worth offering it for free on here so that A) it can perhaps live on, and B) saves you the journey to scrap it.
If you don't have access to a trailer to weigh it in yourself, you will have to...
Renault should sell the sliding pin. I'd call your nearest dealer and see if they have one on the shelf. Otherwise I'd be trying local factors or nipping to a scrapyard.
I personally wouldn't bother to go and start it every few days.
I've one car which regularly gets left for several months at a time and all I do is leave the handbrake off (put it in gear) and disconnect the negative cable from the battery.
It will be fine.
