Winter tyres were going up £40 a week on a couple of sites I checked, or had ran out of stock. I paid £200 for a full set of 17" winter tyres, they get good reviews too.

Like Royston I got my winter tyres fitted today, and I didn't get any wheelspin when I tried to reverse up my sleet covered driveway this afternoon. First impressions are good, and they iron out the bumps better also!

My mate test-drove the 197, R26 and MeganeSport Diesel and hated the diesel, even though he wanted to like it.

+1 The 197 is a great car (yes, I've owned one) but due to the cheap gearboxes and firm ride I'd go for a Civic. Fuel economy is about the same too.

Yeah not bad. I'd leave the stripes but remove the ones by the rear wheel arch, I don't like those. Picture looks to me like you've scanned a photograph!
