We all managed 130 + mph in our Clio 182’s on the Autobahn when we went to the ring. I was in my race car, no interior, no sound proofing, plastic windows etc and it was surprisingly stable but the noise was horrendous.
We flew past a VW van which turned out to be the local rozzers. They pulled...
I only have one Milwaukee tool - the M12 FIWF12 Fuel™ 1/2in Friction Ring Impact Wrench. Replaced my old DeWalt and had it a couple of years now. Certainly easy to use, feels nice in the hands and battery seems to last. Torque figures are a bit hairy fairy mind as it's supposed to torque up to...
As above although I use a flat piece of hardwood on the jack as well. The head on the jack is fairly narrow so I use the wood to bridge across the chassis plates. I’ve also put the jack on the rear axle beam as close to the damper plate as possible without issues
Supplied by Remy, but refurbished Renault parts. I had to use my old carriers but I’m sure you’ll find a set cheap enough
Just can’t remember the price I paid, sorry, but I know it was less than those refurbed versions as I’d looked at them prior
I think those are on an exchange basis only, so unless you’ve got a set to swap you’re screwed. Most offers tend to be on exchange. I bought some from DMFX in Darlington and paid the surcharge. Set me back less than that.
haha nope. I stood at the counter in Halfords after paying for it and the young skinny assistant asked if i'd like help with it. I thought you cheeky bugger, i might be 57 and carrying a bit of extra bark but i'm not done yet. I grabbed it, felt how heavy it was and said "go on then lad, my cars...
Picked one of these up last night - Halfords Advanced 200 Pc Socket and Ratchet Spanner Set.
With the Black Friday discount and my trade card it seemed too good an offer at £220, from £330.
I have a few of their Advance Torque Wrenches, which i've had many years, and have proven very good. So...
And finally this is where i'm up to.
When i bought the car i noticed the steering was very vague, nowhere near as sharp as my BG. The owner also mentioned a knocking sound on pulling away.
I couldn't really get it on a ramp in the middle of the compound, but i had a feeling i knew what the...
With the rear done i began working my way down towards the front starting with the drivers side. I noticed the side skirt was a little chewed up and it looked like it had been off before as it was stuck on with self tappers.
Yes it had definitely been off before, probably to do some remedial...
Sorry for no updates but i've been busy with the trackcar and restoring/fixing oil leaks on the BG daily. Went totally over the top as usual, but so far so good.
Day off today so i'll bring the thread up to date with what's happened to the RB.
First job was to whip the old beam off, look for...
You can put as much paint on as you like but if you don't prepare them first, they'll be rusty within weeks. It's why i do my own and not go the powder coating route.
So here's the last set i did last year. Never been on the car, but sat in the garage - which at times during the cold winter...
@EthanMenace Possible solution for you. I bought brand new genuine wishbones from my local Renault dealer last year and took the original bushes out and replaced with Strong flex as they were going on my track car. You should be able to push the old bushes out of your current ones, then give...
Ah he was in the garage next door to me. I was chatting to him later in the day after following him and an ST Fiesta around for a few laps. He can certainly pedal a car that's for sure.
Yeah I couldn’t believe it Jon when I saw how empty the garages and car park were. I think in the afternoon there was 6 cars on circuit at any given time. One of the best days I’ve had there. What was your mate in?
I replaced a K-Tec Super Stealth on mine with the PMS. It was a bit boomy but always got through noise. The PMS are arguably the best systems for these but flippin pricey
