Re: My mk1 track car blog
yeh i like the stealth look, but ive always loved touring cars that are stickered up to high heaven, and although its not a race car, its as near as i can get (for now ;) )
what subfames you using?
my eye level wasnt over the steering wheel lmao, and although im...
stick with standard
just a bit of advice aswell, you seem to dismiss or be very flippant at some peoples comments who are just trying to help you and ultimately save you some money, most of the guys on here know what they are talking about, take their advice and you wont go far wrong :)
Re: Nitrac discs any good?
so let me get this right, these performance parts are for a 1.2?!?!?!?
dont bother, stick with standard, job done
Re: My mk1 track car blog
cheers bud :D
right everyone i need your input, i am thinking of going balls out and stickering up the track car
after seeing a post on here for a company selling the 197 cup race car decals, i am getting my brother to photoshop me them onto the valver :evil...
Re: My mk1 track car blog

so got the...
Re: My mk1 track car blog
cheers beanie :D
i just find making pipes fiddly, plus getting them to bend to the contours you want is a farce, and then i find they never look super neat, ah well at least its not something i have to do every day :D
Re: My mk1 track car blog
i'll be able to get some that go over the unions, failing that i can cut one side and wrap them round the pipes, as long as they are protected they dont have to be air tight, car is going to be
noisy/cold enough as it is :)
and yeh i know about learning the hard...
Re: My mk1 track car blog
yeh to stop them chafing (sp?) just need to find something the right size, also going to spray with waxoyl to prevent any future rusting on the boot floor
going to do the same where they come through the bulkhead, because ive got no arch liners you can see right...
Re: My mk1 track car blog
cheers mate
im just so glad its over with, its not the worst job in the world by a long way, but for some reason i just hate making brake pipes
Re: My mk1 track car blog
right bit more done today, couldnt do anything yesterday as i was busy.
fit my rear pads, just bought some cheap omp ones for now, will upgrade if they are cack.
i borrowed a brake pipe flaring tool aswell so that i could sort out my in car bias valve, and also...
i know exactly what you mean, especially when theres just enough room for your hand, never mind a great big pair of pliers!
there is a proper tool for it though im sure
this prob wont be much good as youve taken most of suspension off
but i removed centre cap from wheel, put wheel back on, let car sit on floor, then got breaker bar on it, if no luck get a piece of scaffolding onto the breaker, leverage is your friend :D
interesting
i cant comment either way yet, but i am willing to try numerous pads until i find the right one for me
i think thats something people tend not to think about when buying brakes/tyres/suspension, its very difficult to say what is the best product, one persons good will be not so...
just to throw something else into the balance here
if you're going to use a cable throttle setup then why not buy a phase 1 loom and ecu and ditch the uch and current hacked loom? then get the ecu decoded so it will run without decoder and key.
this is basically what ive done with the...
how the hell did they manage so many scratches?! :S
absolutely gutted for you mate, i would kick off big time and not rest until they have sorted it out!
this sort of customer service/level of care makes me sick, if i ever work on someone elses car i always make sure i take extreme care not...
you sure that was the size of the filter and not the filter material?
the cotton filter you get with the standard simota is very poor (i know because i have a simota IK on my 106), the first thing most of the 106 owners do is put a green cotton filter on, no bigger in size, just better...
Re: My mk1 track car blog
what you mean to say you dont have a money tree!! man you are living in the dark ages!! lol
ask ben for one of his, he must have a bloody forest! lmao
Re: My mk1 track car blog
well you can setup the bias valve any way you like, so you could have it altering the front brakes or each wheel individually, front left front right etc
engine is at a standstill as my electrician was busy last weekend, he has been working on the wiring at home all...
