Replied in a couple of threads, not seen that name though. Is he a breaker?
Probably.. but I have Suspension, ARBs, Custom Exhaust, Propshaft, Bushes, LSD etc all for the E30 so its not really worthwhile changing the base car
That was pretty much the idea as soon as I got it back - its easy enough to swap everything over the only two things that would need doing again are the bulkhead/servo modifications and seat bars.
Although, there is one issue - its not easy trying to find a non-runner. The good condition...
Had some time to strip it down for a few hours earlier today.... and I was hoping it would be a scratch! Unfortunately not..
About the only thing on the front end thats still solid (thankfully) is the intercooler. Suspension/wishbone/brakes are all OK too. Radiator has twisted/split and the...
Nice pics from the OP!
Yeah im not too happy but its only metal and life goes on. Lost the back end as it came on boost in 3rd up Clay Hill and it threw me into the wall in a split second, just bad luck I guess. I've got to strip it down sometime to see what the fix is likely to be, but from a...
Il keep an eye out for the next one, ideally want to see what the standard SR is running - was going to try and get the E30 to this one but was too busy on that weekend.
My MacBook is 45 months old, had 607 loadcycles and has pretty much always been run on the mains. Its on charge every night too. Still 95% on capacity and lasts a decent time on battery. Im impressed its lasted nearly four years and the battery is still good - all the other laptops ive...
Back at Oulton in 10 days again for another test, hopefully a bit better this time. Just need to re-bleed the brakes and make a heat shield for the master cylinder and it should be good to go.
Hopefully the E46 will tow nicely too - time will tell. Surprised at how well it drove in the snow...
Ph1 has pump and sender seperate like Daniel says above
Ph2 has black locking ring and its all in one place. Renault have a tool that make undoing the black ring easy... Although I always got away with tapping it round anti-clockwise with something blunt and hammer. Its basically a threaded...
It looks the same as a UCH, but its actually called a Multi Timer Unit on a Ph1. Yes the ECU has to match it. Although, if you had a decoded/virgin ECU, the first time you plug it in it will pick up the code from the multi timer unit and store it, so they would then be matched. If the ECU didnt...
Yeah I did a lot of reading before looking at buying one - going to get them off at some point this week and do the lot! Need to call in at BMW for the breather at some point, unless its cheaper to buy elsewhere. Il have a look at the thread now
Yup its a 320d Sport on 90k, full BMWSH, etc. Although, there isn't a tow bar on it so il be getting one sorted soon. I was looking at 330d's also but decided I didn't really need the extra power (or insurance, tax and MPG difference) so went for the 320 instead. Really happy with how it drives...
New tow car purchased...
...quite a difference from the Passat! Which is now on eBay :)

I had something similar, it thought an accessory was plugged in via the connector. Turns out it was either dirt or a metal filing from when I'd been doing the car, sprayed it with compressed air and it was fine again!
Thats what I used when I took it apart, did the trick :) After putting everything back on its like a new car, pulls 100x better and boosts the best it ever has!
I'm hoping to have the few jobs tidied up and everything good to go by Oulton Park on 17th Feb, will have to see how it goes then!
Andy/Gaz, its something I have read about on the E30 forum and it could be a wise idea to brace it somehow. People suggest bracing the ARB mounts on the rear arms...
Just keep an eye out on here, you'l find one quite quickly i'd imagine.
It seems to be 'the done thing' to build a 'track' based car on here, although never taking it anywhere near a track and then selling it (or breaking it for parts).
Good luck!
I wasn't 100% sure either, but after looking around on the internet for pictures/a breakdown how it works I fitted it the same as it would be on a VAG 1.8T. It certainly works the way it is now when driven/revved up, only lets the excess boost through when off the throttle (on vac) as it should...
The motivation is still there (somewhat), I got about as far as...
I just dont get time with helping everyone else with their projects so its not been touched since Oulton. Its not been like the Clio where it had to be working with driving it all the time, so I'm not really in any rush for it...
