Take off the resinator box which is the peice that runs along the side of the engine (black box), it just pulls off after you take the rubber band off.

Sounds like the dreaded tdc sensor problem, clean as said above but also I would tighten the pins
Sounds like the strut top mounts rubbing on the metal body work, there are two fixes, 1 is to buy some special washers from renault to put under the top mouting up (which are very expensive!) or to grind away part of the hole where the shocker comes through under the top cup. (believe it or not...
Iv had that exact same fault before and Im sad to say it was the uch at fault.
Its on the passenger side of the dash board behind the fuse box.

100% A crank sensor problem. Tighten the pins on the connector. Its located on top of the gearbox where the wireing loom runs across the top. Its like a bronze body with a black pick up in the middle.
I undo the two invert torx bolts that hold the tentioner to the alternator bracket to release the tention, then lever it back down to re tension it. I find this way alot easier!
One belt drives, all. Alternater, water pump, Aic con, pas pump.
Plus dont attempt it yourself unless you have the Locking pin and the camshaft setting bar!
