Its down the front of the engine/gearbox . Best way to describe is if the little butterfly bolt came out it would hit the back of the radiator its about the middle of the car right down. You'll see the little butterly like bit on the bolt if you see the gearbox.

99.9% of the 1.2 16V are 58mm only a few early ones arn't.

I'd recomend stock if your happy with it much cheaper and no insurance problems.

The 172 needs some special tools to set it correctly otherwise you might mess it up as other gaarges have done so in the past.

Check the adjster on the rear drums as Clios with drums will fail like this.

Don't use SPAX IMO there rear dampers have some sort of design fault they keep claiming to have fixed it but this has been going on for a good few years. To be fair they are good with warenties but theats becase they seem to have admitted there an issue I had 6 or so sets in 6 months.

You don't have to chnage it Renault just recomend changind at 5years or 72k you can leave it forever if you want but they reconemd any longer and the risk of it breaking is more. £150 or so for a cambelt not to difficult on the 1.2 as there a bit of space make sure they change the tensioners...

If you use normal fuel I'd say about 180hp is probably about the limit with an intercooler and more long term cooling using just water etc seems a waste. If you can get the water to atomise and realy cool them I'd guess gearbox will be your big problem say 220hp but you'd need a fair bit ot...

Best ring them for exact spec or pop down and take notes off there turbo etc. You probably could get the bits cheaper but ring them up they might be willing to discount etc.

Just stick the new one it its a twist fit I think. Don't use grease. Check the wiring connection on the dash and sensor though instead they can be problematic.

Yep 43 offset. Should only need spacers on the back.

No way 5hp maybe 2hp on a 1.6 say 3 with a remap. Depends what else you have on the car though. Its not worth trying to tune a car let alone a N/A car but thats never stopped people throwing money at them.

Should do same JC1 type box used on them.
