It's always seemed like the android/apple argument to me.
I like the idea of Tivo/Android and it should be a very powerful tool, however Sky/iOS just works and works well.
Ive had Virgin Internet for the last 5 years and have never had any restrictions applied. There's days where I will download 200gb+ and nothing has ever happened or been said
I have the best of both worlds - Virgin 120mb internet and phoneline and Sky for TV. Check quidco for cashback as they usually have £100+ cashback offers on (for Sky). I hated Virgin Media TV when I had that. The TIVO box is so buggy!
There's really no need for the 'canbus error free' ones. I personally have these (from the same seller)

Love these - but not as quick as the figures suggest they should be, probably down to the weight perhaps?
Love the wheels in the new colour, not a fan of the front grill though, it looks very 'halfords' imo.
Other than that - spot on!
The boxes can be pickerd up for <£400 new anyway, so it's not the end of the world if it does go.
My 197 was on 70k+ when I sold it and the box was perfect. I still think a lot of it is to do with the way it's driven.
It's twice the size of the one i'm running on a 300hp 5 pot turbo and mine will still be fine when I eventually hit 400hp - it's entirely unnecesary and will add lag on something with a small turbo.
Quick question - how have you manged 240bhp on the standard filter? MK IV I assume?
REVO stage 2 takes them to 205-220bhp but requires intake mods.
P.S i'm not doubting you, just interested as I have a couple of friends with MK IV Golfs and this could be useful to them.
OK - quick update. I wasn't happy with how one of the intercooler pipes was sitting. As i'm not running the std intercooler (or one specificly for my car) one pipe was slightly too short meaning it was on at a funny angle.
I ordered 1m of 63mm silicone and had a spare 90 degree bend so had a...
I did look at the Saab's before I bought this (no chance I was going to look at the Vectra!) but once I looked at parts prices, tax, etc etc I just couldn't buy one. I'm not a big fan of how they look either, I much prefer the S40 in the looks department personally.
Heat rises though, so it stays pretty cool, that's the standard pipework route. Also it's pre intercooler so doesn't really matter. I've checked and my intake temps are nice and low (last time i checked it was 6 degrees ambient and 9 degrees intake, so working well!)
What's different about the intercooler? Pretty standard stuff to drop in a bigger front mount.
MPG wise, around town about 22mpg, on a run anywhere from 32-40mpg speed depending.
You'll be surprised at how much difference the pressure washer actually makes.
I went from a Nilfisk C110 to a Nilfisk C130 and the difference in foam density was amazing!
Not as much as you'd think
Downpipe & decat £400
Intercooler £250
Remap £400
K&N air filter £40
Brakes £350
Pipework £400
I've done all the work (apart form the mapping) so no labour costs so has cost £1,840
That means the car stands me at £5,840 which for 300hp and 350lb-ft of torque, and...
Fifth gear tested it on a Golf GTI. Here's the difference it made:
Asda unleaded - 235.8bhp
BP unleaded - 236.1bhp
BP Ultimate - 236.7bhp
Esso Supreme - 240.5bhp
Shell V-Power - 240.9bhp
So yes, it makes a difference, however you really arent going to notice 5.1bhp on the road, and the...
Surely thats the atmospheric pressure, which will be used in the power caluculation. It's one of the correction factors.
Its' not the boost pressure!
My last RR it was 1002.9
