After reading what everybody says they have, sounds like what I get too. First couple of times thought I had broken something. Reno knew nothinbg about it and said since they coulnt simulated it on a test drive there was nothing wrong. I have learnt to drive around the problem a bit now so it...

Currently with Norwich Union Direct - I tried to negoitiate them down but they would not budge so I asked them to put the conversation down as a complaint and pass to the relevant department - will start shopping for new insurance at the weekend.
Cheers for help so far, keep em coming
Told them about my Exhast replacement and they loaded £57 p/a on it. When I call last year they said it would be £25. Piss*d off to say the least.
Anyone got contact details for good but cheap insurance Cos ?
I mentioned doing this a couple of weeks ago with Silver foil and some sort of heat resistant glue. Not done it yet, will be a job in the warmer / drier weather.

Performance is mildy...

This weekend fitted the Ktec exhaust and the mods are able to...
Mine is worse in the wet because the wheels spin that much easier. It has done it in the dry as well but usually only if I make a slight turn (left usually) when the nearside wheel is light. Then it bangs like a madman with a lump hammer, sounds like the wheel is bouncing up and down like mad...
sounds like you may have a duff one - speak to Nick at Hill Power and he will tell you whats what. If your tickover fluctuates upto 1500rpm it sounds like it is over compensating for something and if it is ok with the old ECU I recon you have a duff one, I am sure Nick will swap it over for you...
I get a bit of a clunck on acceleration, but thought it was a worn top engine mount. Put me down anyway as it is a potential fault as I have a Cup/172.
sounds like dirty injectors - try running an injector cleaner through.
Someone mentioned (a whille ago) about a valve/switch or somthing like that that could cause what you have.
Try posting the question for an "RTE" there a 2 or 3 that are members.
how easy are these to fit on the 172 engine. Looks like you have to take the engine apart to get to the plugs (slight exageration) and do I need an gaskets etc ?
