You're better off ordering a new service book and getting it re-stamped up.
Personally, I wouldn't touch a car that didn't come with a service book so to me it's worth significantly less than what you could potentially get.
2 months before I turned 25 I stacked the car, causing a £3000 fault claim. When I renewed I was 25, and with the crash it was identical to the previous years premium. So it came down the same amount as the crash put it up.

If you buy from Renault, they come pre-coded for the immobiliser from France. They program them for the doors at the dealer iirc, which you can chose not to do (its 3/4 hrs labour usually)
You'll will need to get a blade cut for it though.
you need to tell your insurance within a specific time frame, perhaps just tell them that you want to see what Renault say first and you'll get back to them with an update. Saying nothing and ringing them in a week after Renault have told you to do one won't work, as they need to have the...
