Has your cousin got any other Maxi stuff? I would love a spec sheet and schematic of the whole car. Its impossible to track down. Ive got an exploded diagram but its a blurry jpeg and not much good. Plus if he knows where to get a genuine Maxi bonnet that would be handy.
Need opinions on these two styles on my 16v. Which is wickeder? Anyone got a picture of a valver on either of these wheels? Chronos would be appreciated, cos you dont see a lot of them around.
yeah some good points. In theory a fuel injected car should read increased manifold pressure from a higher-flowing air filter and adjust fuelling accordingly. After all it has to have this capability to account for differences in air temperature, altitude, gradual clogging of the factory filter...
LOL thats all I can say.
Phil - I for one do not intend to ever sell my 16v. What would be the point? It already stands me in for far more money and time than Id ever get back for it. Some people are quite happy to buy one car after another in a futile quest for more power, more toys, more...

you got it spot on Phil, Vauxhall/Opel arent exactly new kids on the block, the Mantas and Novas are solid racers. But the Corsa is rank:o - Ive got to say it, and not even a hint of motorsport in its veins. Sorry Jill, just my opinion...I rate even a Nova over Corsa. Dont know about the Belmont...
Yeah its pretty much been all said on here. In my experience, the wider you go (and lower profile), the less progressive your handling will be on the limit. A more balloon like tyre will keep gripping for longer and be more controllable but when it goes it really goes. A rubber band type tyre is...
It can only really be a loose wire at the horn end. The horn can knacker up if you run without the sh*tguards in the wheelarch. Does this apply to you?

LOL yeah Im a nosey parker. Anyway Wongy I may just need a lift this Saturday as well, I wanna have a ride in that turbo to see how quick it really is. Plus you might be able to get me to this geezer whos selling a 3.0 supra on the cheap. Itll be a nice run around until I get the mean machine back.

Well Im happy for people to drive at the speed limit if theyre not in anyones way. Even when Im doing over a ton I still pull into the left hand lane if theres nothing to overtake in the next ten seconds. Its just good manners. When people are hogging the fast lane though, I have to admit I do...

You can indeed have 18s on your valver. But if it genuinely is a 60mm drop youll be chopping a hell of a lot of your wing out to get the wheels to even turn. On a 35mm drop I had to take quite a lot out of the arches so 60mm would be a real mission. And thats only on the absolutely narrowest...
Well Im glad it helped! Just lmk if you look under the bonnet and its not obvious, dont cut or scotchlok anything until youre sure. Oh and btw disconnect the battery to be on the safe side. Just take the earth cable off, the positive can stay on.
If youre thinking about getting into electrics...
Assuming were measuring metric tonnes rather than imperial tons (which most people do) you divide bhp by weight in tonnes.
ie 120/0.95= 126.3 bhp/ton
In fact the unit of measurement itself tells you what calculation you need to do...eg mph is distance in miles divided by time in hours.

The easiest identifier is the wing mirrors. If they are rounded on the top and bottom that is Phase 2 or 3. Phase 1 mirrors, were rounded on the top and flat at the bottom.
