In particular which lines are which going into the master cylinder...
Trying to figure out why the rear two holes on the cylinder are M10 and the front holes are like M12...
Thanks.
Not really, lol. Just removed all the plastic backing in the bumpers and drilled the front to make it look different than every other Mk1 with the single hole :)
Quite an eventful day with plenty of CS'ers there. A very damp start with rain until about 10am - then the sun came out and the track was fully dry by lunch which was great.
The track was slippery as f*ck early on, especially with R888s - but once dry it was a lot more fun than I expected it...
I replaced the inner gaitor on mine fine, I got the boot from sideways danny and fitted it to my 172 shaft. Its nowhere near the engine block if you use the same type of clips as that came off!
Only about 15min really in the morning, lol. There is 7 of us on the Sat night anyways, then going to FCS, then 4 of us on the Sunday night for the trackday...all the others who are doing the trackday are there too, Andyrg/Jingo etc
Hes only got 3/4 days! He has got to drive it to Birmingham on Friday, then carry on en-route on Saturday to the hotel us lot are staying at for FCS, lol.
We're getting close... Idle issue now sorted and revs up nice. All the lights/electrics work as do all the 172 clocks...
After filling the coolant with water and finding an inch round hole in the radiator Adam had bought we fitted my spare, bled it through with water again to check. All fine...
Re: Mk1 F4R/172'd Track Car Project
I chopped the rear upper mount of the headlight off, then used that hole for the pin. You have to chop the mount off to give you enough room behind for the pin nut/washer to fit...
Re: Mk1 F4R/172'd Track Car Project
Bloooor came down this morning as he wanted his K-Tec short shifter swapping for a different one - as the K-Tec one was rattling and he didnt like the feel of it.
After a lot of messing around with the circlip for the gear housing under the car between the...
Re: Mk1 F4R/172'd Track Car Project
Yeah, you have to use a T-Piece on the front of the engine - so you can run the oil pressure switch and oil pressure sender from the same hole (Back in Feb/March 2009 in this thread).... Oil level/temp works too, just gotta swap the sensor from the front of...
Re: Mk1 F4R/172'd Track Car Project
Ive got a guide thats half finished with contributions from various people, need to crack on and finish it off really.
Already wrote a wiring guide and a few other bits that have been used by quite a few people now, just needs the parts/fitting one...
Re: Mk1 F4R/172'd Track Car Project
As far as I know its a straight bolt on fit to the servo and the lines match up due to the master cylinder having four outputs - il update in here once its on and hopefully working
Re: Mk1 F4R/172'd Track Car Project
Made my own camber guage then use some maths to work out the angle...
Tracking wise I use some straight sections of metal, ruler and some maths - works well enough for me for now. The amount it comes apart I cant be bothered forking out £30 every week to...
Re: Mk1 F4R/172'd Track Car Project
The suspension needed setting up so the 205/50 R888s would fit on and run fine, so it all had to come off to be adjusted and setup from scratch.
The other day I did the drivers side, then got to the passenger side and the coilover would not budge, the height...
