BTW one other thing - once you start to really abuse the drivetrain, its always the clutch that will go first before the gearbox anyway. Both replacement jobs are a nightmare, but a blown box is always gonna cost you more.
Well Im running a Williams box in my 16v and its smooth as silk - take it up to 7500 rpm in normal road driving no problems, and quarter mile it with 5000-7000 rpm, full throttle gearchanges and 200+ hp crossing the line, again no problems whatsoever.
Theyre cracking me up over there, they even stick up for the Clio over their own motors!!!
The question is; which is more of a design mistake - the Ford Orion or the Vauxhall Belmont? I vote for the Belmont every time but the Orion was definitely a page best left forgotten in the annals of...
Yeah its definitely an official unofficial meet. Well Ill be there barring any unforseen circumstances.
LOL Arjun you should have come 1/4 miling on the weekend mate!
BTW Dan Im a primary teacher.
joe whats your email. Ill send you a circuit diagram of how Ive got it wired up at the moment, then you have a crack at it to see how I could override the pulsing on full power. It shouldnt be too much of a brain strain, I just havent got round to looking at the circuit yet.
Regarding RR day in the South, the going rate has been £20-£30 for the two days weve had so far. Rallytec in Chelmsford are a good rr but I went there a few years ago and it was £50 just for a power run. Id say BB Tuning would be a better bet, their new road seems to be spot on.
Glenn Id go...

Well without mods you cant even get round corners on 215/35/18!
As you probably know I had to remove the sh*tguards, angle grind the inner wing and cut not just the lip, but into the actual outer wing to get them to fit. But I can get full lock and no scrubbing at all so thats something, it...
When you say 2.0 16v are you talking about the Williams? Just off the top of my head as standard, a V6 will do low 6s, 172 high 6s/low 7s, Williams high 7s
Cheers Stu, got the snaps!
OK everyone who was there on Sunday, email me at nick@cliosport.net
I need to know - Who you are, what car and brief mods, reg number(so I can caption any pictures that we put with the report), best and worst times with terminal speeds.
Cheers!
Would it not be a good idea to run the whole setup on a mappable ECU, Lumenition or something? Surely this could control fuelling on boost etc, hooking up the fuel regulator to the boost is pretty hit and miss, although admittedly without using electronic control there arent many options...
Yeah Joes got some good points there, and £100 is bloody cheap for a Unichip which needs a proper rr setup. Seems like products and labour are just cheaper in SA.
Head/manifold work and fast road cams (ie slightly hotter than standard) will give you a slightly lumpy idle but nothing major...
