the ph1 and ph2 side strips are different i think although have the same mountings (can someone confirm this?). may just wait for the ph2 version to come out and will fit those lol.
either way, yes its a confirmed order, have just put my name in for the mirror covers on the group buy to start...
does anyone know if the PH1 and PH2 wing mirrors are the same? the previous owner of mine hit the garage support too many times and £60 isnt much more expensive than getting them resprayed.
am also after the side strips for a PH1 if they'll ever be coming out? can send mine to you for...
Re: My Ph1 172 track sl*g Progress Thread
u shite, after such a bad day at work on tuesday i needed to be ragging the car instead. cant wait for next bedford day now.
what are these other ideas then? an whats causing the understeer? i was getting some at rockingham, unsure yet if thats just...
Re: My Ph1 172 track sl*g Progress Thread
fookin ell'!!! tony, you are never driving my car lol. at least now we know the car can do it. get urrrr drift on ha
lol, the std clio sport ones in mine were way too high as well. the std sidemounts will be enough easily. if you found them still to be too tall (which you wont :P) its not the end of the world to just drill 4 more holes lower down in the frame. easy enough to do
£222 each inc vat. why do you want them so low? ive got the std side mounts in the clio and set on the lowest bolts, the frame i made sits them only an inch off the bottom of the car so extra low ones wont be much use. the bolts through the floor pan will restrict it unless your going to cut out...
some nice vids there, i was using some different gears in the first few corners. think you were in third, i used second most of the time as the car just wouldnt pull out quick enough for me in third.
that may of been as i was trying to haul schweppy's fat ass around with me lol
thats fair enough, i dont know enough about computers to comment much other that Sophos doesnt like it. just went on there again and it came up with a Trojan warning.
wasnt having a dig, just mentioning it. never the less, i'll be getting some pictures when they're uploaded
dave
had these in my previous car, sexy as hell. the missus used to moan that the sides protruded too far out so her arms rested at a gay angle. dont notice it when your driving though because (i would hope) your holding the steering wheel.
soooo nice to sit in arent they
Re: someph-ing different...........
loving the progress, will you be at FCS? can have a natter etc.
i prefere the PH1's to the PH2's now as well, although emma thinks it looks like a hippo from the front.......
Re: someph-ing different...........
the 2 bolts on the passenger seat are both under rubber bungs in the bottom of the car, easy as pie to remove the bungs (1.5" dia) the 2 bolts in the tunnel side are both easy to get to. dont do it witha hot exhaust though as the bolts go striaght past the...
Re: someph-ing different...........
^
aye tis correct. all 4 bolts come out easy, dont forget to unplug the cables too rather than ripping them out lol
the rear bar holes i just put the bolts back in. i got a cargo net from Renault and used the 2 bolts to secure it like Jays. the only other hole is in the tunnel next to the handbrake where the old seat was bolted too, left it open at the mo as cant be arsed to plug it with a nut and bolt lol...
i think the outcome is theyre illegal but most MOT ppl wont notice it. mine passed last week with the aircraft buckle.
if you want a pic of where ive mounted them in the side etc just let me know too :)
the Willans harness came with the eyelets. one was bolted into the old seatbelt hole in the middle of the car, the other i used the extended eyebolt from Merlin and screwed it into the side anchor where the old rear seatbelt is secured. used a steel spacer to pack it out beyond the plastic...
are they not road legal because they arent tested? i'd rather be tied up by something with FIA stamped all across them tbh.
wouldnt be much of a problem anyway would it? MOT arent going to notice that etc?
will load a picture in a sec of the mountings mate.......gotta go and pick my car up...
ive used Willans harness in mine, they cost a fair whack though. got the 3" 4point version, cost just over £100 each.
dont think they do yellow though, tbh, i wudnt get anything too cheap. the fixings may be w**k as well as the finish etc. theyre gunna be stuck round ur neck and waist and u...
got no seats or anything in the back of mine but have kept the rear panels in. tbh, i love the sound of it now, so much more raw, adds to the driving exp.
but its my 2nd vehicle so isnt the end of the world for me anyway...
