French Carnection in Rayleigh are pretty good and youll get a courtesy car, a bouncy Citroen AX that you can drive over the middle of roundabouts with.
Id just leave it. As long as the thing isnt leaking anywhere else youre ok, the weak spot is always gonna be where it connects to the rail. Its a nightmare to get the fuel pipes out from the belt side of the engine anyway.
Barry - make sure you let me know once its done, Ive got to see what the mean machine is like. Plus Ive never seen a turbo plumbed into an F7P engine before so itll be good to see how everything fits.
Get nitrous.
I was thinking about that BMC, I think itll go in, youll just need to sort out the piping yourself. Put a bit of string around the throttle body and work out the diameter you need then get a bit of 90 degree reducing elbow Samco hose to hook up the filter body to.
Madman how much you paying for the 2.0 if you dont mind me asking? Are you finding the lump or is he doing the complete job for you?
Email me if you can...
nick@cliosport.net
Cheers. In fact Mat, I need the same answers off you as well mate. Can you email me?
Mat - cheers mate AFAIK the two heads are different, certainly the Willy head has bigger valves. But glad to hear it bolts together.
Simon - Im never one to do things by halves! Mats spot on with his reading of the situation, yes I have got nitrous and in the next couple of weeks Im...
FAO Mat or Ben R16 or anyone!
Me and WOngy want 2.0 power now so whats the score with your lump?
If Im right Mat, youve got a 2.0 bottom end and 1.8 head? Ben is yours totally 2.0 with the 2.0 head as well?
What sort of work is involved - Im thinking its basically find a 2.0 Megane lump...
The prices sound about right. I know some people have found places that do the Unichip for £300 all in, but theres nowhere I know of near me that does, £500 is the going rate.
Only do the power boost valve if you dont mind having fuel pipes running all over your engine bay!
Yeah you dont need water injection, like Ben said its just for cars running high boost and in danger of detonation, on a NA car this doesnt really happen so you dont need it.
The aircon thing is a bit of a non-starter, plus I would imagine that whatever your aircon can push out is a lot less...
your 172 was quality Arjun, I was well impressed, at last someone actually getting cracking on their brand new motor.
in theory, if you adjust the fuel pressure the ECU will detect the extra fuel through the lama sensor and shorten the injector duration to compensate and lean out the mix...
Yeah I got one made by Dash Dynamics. Its OK but Id say use UHU to stick it the adhesive isnt that good. And definitely DONT get the carbon fibre effect, its sh*t.
Tony what happened? we were there near the Casino! You should have give me a ring, I was there after 10 - youre the one that persuaded me to go!
Kev, your leather is quality mate, I love it. Still think you should do the dash and parcel shelf in leather as well though.
and the other reply -
I use a High Power system supplied by Nitrous Solutions, no ill effects yet unless you count two burnt out clutches, but thats par for the course when you do a lot of standing starts.
The engine internals and plugs have had a few bits of carbon knocked off but apart...
the nylon pipe isnt that much, in fact nitrous solutions (who sell all the HighPower kit) wouldnt sell you braided even if you asked for it...something about Yankee overkill!
But braided really isnt needed you just want something thatll take 2000psi burst pressure which nylon pipe will do...
Not the most common problem Chuckie, seems like youre unlucky...
Might as well get the head ported and polished while youre there and slip some fast road cams in as well.
Yes but just using NGK doesnt necessarily mean the plugs have a colder heat range...if you want a colder range than the standard RC7BMC Chamipon plug then use C6YCC or for race use a C63YC will do the trick.
I think the NGK standard plug is a BKR6EK so a colder version is available I cant...
I cant even remember whats been answered here and what hasnt. I think Bens answered most of it.
At the moment Im running 60bhp jets on a throttle switch and arming switch. Seems like Fast & Furious was a bit too dramatic about how it works for obvious reasons, a few contradictions, eg if they...
There isnt! If you want a blower you need to get rid of the power steering, to fit a turbo youre having to put the battery and coolant tank somewhere else and find room for a chargecooler.
