sort of. not *exactly* like the illustration, but..
the center part of the dephaser pulley is solidly bolted to the end of the camshaft. the 'outer' part of the dephaser pulley can move (the part with the teeth for the cambelt).
This moves when oil pressure to the pulley increases, which...
the first part of the video you posted explains it perfectly, the inlet pulley changes its own position on the inlet camshaft by a set amount of degrees.
This is done by the solenoid on the top left/cambelt end of the rocker cover. Its oil/hydraulic powered.

heh, they are not good in weather like we have had the past week or two, unbelieveable how hot it gets inside. Sliders are useless and dont let in any air at all really, and love to leak when it rains, oh well!
Got some more weight to loose yet, but it will...

I only carried on past the leigh bypass because I thought that Black Clio was going to try it on again, but he turned off down the bypass..
Usually has two seats in, took the other out for the french car...

Had a 3/4 height front plate, 05 reg maybe?
Had dashes inbetween in the 3 parts of the reg...black/anthercite front diamond?

As mentioned earlier also, it *could* be the timing...Dont know if you remember Burps 172 ph1, used to run fine, just felt a bit underpowered....
He had it rolling roaded at 140odd, then checked the timing and it was out. It can be a certain slight amount out before it starts getting...
there is no 'larger' cam...its nothing like vtec.
vvt = variable valve timing, it changes the position of the inlet pulley at a certain rpm (1200-1300) to aid low rpm driving.
the 5k kick is purely the design/components of the engine, hence why it sometimes disappears with a map/and or...
think we are camping friday and sat @ hamilton fields campsite....not 100% decided yet though.

he wouldnt move over as we were getting upto 120ish jellybeans on the runway detour we took......when he finally did I went past to the end of the clock......slowed, and he went past again, then the same again....after that he stayed behind...lol.
