Another good weekend, bit better than last year with regards to setup and member numbers!
We stayed with the Mk1 lot on saturday night in kettering, good to put some faces to names once again..

they were originally in the yozza "1.2" cup, which then got broke and they went to tooney....tooneys 172 cup had matched inlets, itg filter, matched inlets, decat etc, and made 192bhp with them in once mapped...
so we shall see when I get it sorted!

Removed the center silencer on the exhaust, fixed the blowing manifold, sorted the knocking exhaust, so went for a few blasts on my runway :evil:

So much better power delivery without the manifold blowing, its still on the standard map and shifts alot better....cant wait for map now!

Just spent like all afternoon sourcing and fitting a new manifold downpipe gasket, as it was embarrassing how much it was blowing, was undrivable!
after a lot of hassle its now on and drives alot better, no more blowing....off to do a few videos now :)

i have a box with every receipt for everything in...may add it up in a few years, but im not too bothered!
its all about the fun of keeping it running, learning new things, and driving it as much as possible :evil:

yeah, they are nice! the map isnt right, really boggy up to just under 3k, then pulls like a train...
waiting for a schrick map from henk hopefully, see how that goes.
Its not really 'loud' now, im just comparing it to what it used to be... I had...

nah a mate did. cut it to length, he picked it up, welded it, brought it back within 20 mins, so its all good!
depends which cam is out, and by how far....its not hard to get the timing wrong when doing the belt IMO, as the pulleys are not keyed on the end of the cams...it will run upto so many degrees out (few on here have had them running fine but down on power after cambelt changes)

Picked up some 2.5" straight stainless pipe this morning, just took the center section off...
Center silencer cut out, straight pipe welded into the place....hopefully should give a bit more noise, just got to fit it now!
I think some require the strut tops to be drilled, and others fit without drilling...
I have the AST ones, which require no drilling, straight fitment...Ive not been in a car with any of the others, but I can say solid top mounts by far made a noticeable difference to the drive, and the 'feel'...
