Re: Project 172k Trophy, & its endless track abuse
Nice work Dave that sounds like a pretty penny will have been spent with the lads at Jms. When I take mine down for some work I will give you a heads up and meet up at the garage for a bit of trofail chat ;)
Let me know how it feels with the...
You can go as low As you want, however the lower you go the less control you seem to get, the ph1 used to bump steer a lot, I could still keep up or leave people through the corners but it involved a lot more work to keep it on the road
Tbh if you get a whiteline rear arb you'll find control...
You may or may not remember my ph1 but that was another 30mm lower on the front than the trophy and about 15mm lower on the rear ;)
I'm going to have it low but just enough so the shocks still do a decent job
After last weeks clean I noticed an extreme ammount of tar build up on the lower sections of the cup, at the time I wasnt anywhere near home so as soon as I got back I sorted it out
Tardis doing its thing
Front plate removed
And the rear
New 3/4 plate added
New rear...
First things I would do on the styling front if you arent going to remove the bodykit:
Remove the spoiler
Change bonnet for a standard valver/williams item
Standard front and rear lights
Colour code the sidestrips and front splitter
Get some subtle exhausts at the rear
Remove stickers, badges...
Re: Austin-182 progress thread (2 years late)
no more alcantara pal? Looks really nice though I love the gear insert, not keen on the black surrounds on the door handles, as it everything else is dark blue it propper sticks out, but the actual handle itself in grey is awesome.
They're a cheaper way of remapping your car. They're a generic map but proven to be very good. Henk from Fastchip is the guy behind the whole thing and he's on here. You can pick up a box for around 110 and then you need an unlock code which will be around £45-50. Or I can lend you mine when it...
Wow how times have changed, bit old skool, a few years back this would look cool but it's now completely out of date, you don't know what you're missing with such a heavy car, bin the sounds, hydraulics and bodykit then enjoy thrashing it around
So the cup has done around 1500 miles since I bought it 3 weeks back, it has just had the belts done but I couldnt see anything else in there for an actual oil/filter/plug change so I decided I would do the honours and also change the gearbox oil as its probably never been done before,
I've...
After only having the car 2 weeks I took it on a long journey to the south west. I've covered around 1200 miles in it this week and have just tret it to a full service, more on that in my progress thread in 'projects'
Theres a couple of pics from where I stopped off at Birdlip, then some dirty...
Just doing a little comparison now.

Yep it was me mate, they're dark anthracite but I will forgive you the light was going ;)
Your car is looking smart mate for the brief 10 seconds I saw it
Re: Project 172k Trophy, & its endless track abuse
You may aswell go the whole hog and get the waterpump done aswell mate. I did the full lot on the trophy just for piece of mind. If the dephaser hasnt already been done then its doing well so far.
