Ahhh, it might be easier to just get a Mk1 Ph1 ecu? Thats what I did on my valver when it had the Ph2 ecu on as it annoyed the hell outta me, might be cheaper?
The big pics now updated....the only thing im not 100% sure on is the top right, VVT? or not....it plugs in next to the oil filler cap, under the map sensor, two pin black connector...?
The pics might be confusing as i keep over writing it when i update the labels :p
5 = fan resistor, you mean the rad fan or blower unit?
foglamp could be fan yeah? Im not sure....possibly is....
This is number 6, plugs into here......Crash switch you say?
Ive come to the conclusion that those pics are crap, ive just laid out the loom and labelling a picture of it with the ones i know, maybe it will be easier for people to recognise...
Just wondering if anyone can identify these, Ph1 172 Engine Loom...
1. Next to the plug for the thermostat housing...?
2. On its own wire, about a foot long, nothing else stems from it...?
3. These two are on the other side of the loom near the lambda sensor, what are they...?
Cheers!
For reference if you need it, 172 hubs are 26mm wide, they need to be 22mm for Mk1 coilovers...
That was mine (Ignore the bearing it was pressed out)
Then bolt holes enlarged (1mm fatter bolts, I had 0.5mm taken off every edge) with 172 Hub nuts/bolts...
Ahh i see.
Well depending on which ones you use....obviously the 172 items will fit the 172 hubs easily, it just depends if the strut is too tall for the Mk1 or not.....
If they are too tall and wont fit properly and you need to use the Gaz mk1 coilovers, the hubs will need 4mm machining off...
Re: Mk1 Hybrid Project
Day 132
I started working out the valver loom about a week ago, but only got round to doing it properly tonight. Stripped it off the engine, along with the 172 engine loom off the other engine too. Matteh had given me his list of connections for a Ph1 valver engine loom...
think he wants the 172 brakes though i think i read?
i suppose he could just put the hubs onto the wishbones he already has, then the 172 disks and calipers... would fit fine .....although im not sure if the actual 172 struts fit? im sure they arent the right length or something.......has it...
subframe dosent fit iirc......
I put the 172 wishbones, hubs, driveshafts, brakes etc onto the valver subframe...all fits fine.......you need the williams anti roll bar though, as the 172 item dosent fit as i found out.......you need williams as the 172 stuff is basically 'widetrack', same...
Re: Mk1 Hybrid Project
