Sorry for another favour thread, but this one would really help me out.
I could really do with something picked up from leatherhead tomorrow morning ish and it ending up anywhere just over the dartford bridge?
Thanks.
Take some pictures of the balljoint and fitting etc?
Are the bolts 12mm yes??? Not 10mm.
What did you do exactly to fit the balljoint?? i.e give me a quick process.
I bet you've got m10 bolts, or not done the pinch bolt up tight enough?
But he's "finished" it on various other occasions right? It's not like it's never been to a good standard and he's been waiting on making it great forever.
I do understand, but it's a lot of money to have tied up in something he clearly doesn't love any more.
You're all wrong.
Get rid mate. Put it all back together, sell the wheels to someone who'll make the most of them, and sell it as a rolling shell or pop the engine in and sell as a running track project.
You sound like you've lost the love, and TBH with how much things slowed down, I get...
But can't he just get a new set where the bolts are right? Surely this is easy!!!
Alternatively, get some m12, 17/18/19mm (can't remember the head size) headed bolts and some nylock nuts for underneath.
I've read now... I'll see if I've got the bolts lying around like I think I have.
As for...
I might have some in my garage. Let me have a look tonight. How much money are you really going to save over just ordering a whole new set of the right things for £25 for the pair!!!!
No.
If you do that, you'd have to drill the holes on your balljoint.
Get some 12mm balljoints, it'll come with new 12mm bolts etc.
When you go into a motorfactors to order the part, I'm 898% sure they'll say "is it the 10mm or 12mm mate?"
Do NOT use 10mm bolts.
The 2mm hole difference means that after a while of braking and accelerating they slowly work loose and start to knock.
The 12mm option fills the hole perfectly and doesn't have this issue.
The balljoints ARE exactly the same, but the small bolt holes in the...
Who the hell were this bodyshop????
Not only have they done a pony job of spraying it, but they've ruined some wiring too? How did they manage this?
Can you get some HD pics of the body work???
Someone like Gally should be able to comment on whether it's acceptable or fixable??

I'm 90% sure this is the spare out of my car, never even been fitted to a car, so straight as you like.
In your position, I'd do the following...
Buy a second hand good condition cat (possibly off of someone on here if you join up and can see the market place)
Go to a good exhaust place.
Have them build you a system and use the cat you've picked up.
Then you'll have a shiny new exhaust...
See... I can almost understand you Dave, but no leather and I hate the mesh too.. (I'm picky)
But the vee is such a special car, the trophy ones look special, the green ones... not so much.
I hadn't even noticed, but you're quite right.
On an unrelated note, people in countries where facebook is blocked etc, often use http://www.allunblocked.com/
Without being harsh, those seats always make me think
"I really wanted recaro's, but I didn't want to spend a lot of money. I ended up with these w**k green ones because no one else wanted them, but they were a bargain!"
You know it's a clio, right??
It'll be depreciating due to age right now, regardless of mileage. Get out and enjoy it mate! No offence meant by the above btw.
The seats are a bad choice IMO. I know it's "sheep" but trophy recaro's and the sabelt wheel would make it perfect.
Oh and it's the best looking vee I've ever seen, ever. Amazing colour.
Personally.... use two hinges on the "front" and then clip hinge on the other side etc like a lot of other cars do. 106's etc.
I'm pretty sure you could just glue the hinges to the windows rather than try to drill anything.
I knew you were looking at swapping, hadn't seen what you'd bought. Looks a really nice car, if I buy another RS it'll be a cup I think.
Anyhow, why are you changing the hubs mate???
It really doesn't matter AT ALL if the disc retaining screws are there or not. Some cars/discs don't even have...
Right:
Eibach Sportlines, have the spoiler colour coded if it's not and then stop on the outside.
Get inside and get rid of those blue speaker grilles, please just get some standard ones from a scrappy.
This could become a nice looking car.
Love everything about that;
The wheels are quite hard to pull off but you've done it perfectly.
Flared arches look amazing.
Colour is brilliant.
Good work all round. I also love the no nonsense attitude, "I don't take photos, I just do s**t".
They're trying to do you RIGHT over.
Just ask for the car back, explain you want nothing more done and take it to somewhere that isn't run by arseholes.
