However the diesel box would have some advantages the rpm at motorway speeds would be nice and low so better mpg only thing is acceleration would be down.
There some good pics on there of my car glad i got some of it on 3 wheels I'd have thought the Satuday pics would have been better as my tyres weren't as work.

Same engines realy, the 172 phase1 is the better engine in many ways as it will not use the trbo head which is a slight restriction on power Vrs the later 172 head.
The Mk1 has the proper cable throttle which is IMo miles better and a worthwile upgrade.
It most likly the dogbone it take most of the abuse. In your car the extra Hp and torque must be killing it.
I'm not sure on the best fix maybe a second mount welded on.
I've got one its not bad it does hold you in the seat better a bit like a harness but its not as good.
I'm interested to see how badly it wil wear the seat belt though it seems ok at the moment but I'm sure it will wear it after time.

There £55 not including VAT from Renault last time i checked Infi car and other breakers kow this so any good ones go for a fair bit anyway.
I ended up using a iniversal sheet of heat matting from Demon tweeks only cost £20 or so.
Somewhere between £450 and £700 the catalogue isn't clear.
