    Need advise on engine conversion!!!

    Swop the gearbox as well. However the diesel box would have some advantages the rpm at motorway speeds would be nice and low so better mpg only thing is acceleration would be down.

    The phase 1 does have an A/C pump to deal with but thats no huge loss. Even then some cups came with A/C Phase1's are very often the quickest.

    Same engines realy, the 172 phase1 is the better engine in many ways as it will not use the trbo head which is a slight restriction on power Vrs the later 172 head. The Mk1 has the proper cable throttle which is IMo miles better and a worthwile upgrade.

    it doesn't matter what order you bleed the brakes so long as you bleed them properly ie let the fluid come out for some time.

    It most likly the dogbone it take most of the abuse. In your car the extra Hp and torque must be killing it. I'm not sure on the best fix maybe a second mount welded on.

    You don't need even that much power a Valver is a quick car driven correctly.

    There £55 not including VAT from Renault last time i checked Infi car and other breakers kow this so any good ones go for a fair bit anyway. I ended up using a iniversal sheet of heat matting from Demon tweeks only cost £20 or so.
