Possibly, but I'm optimistic that the fact that I have almost doubled the capacity of the airfeed into the filter, and also that the doubled-in-size-airfeed itself is going to be having a 60-120 mph wind forcing itself in and through the filter to the engine...should offset the air density...
Adding it all up for the first time;
£50 Airbox
£40 Filter
£23 CAF + jubilee clip
£-13 selling old filter + ITG panel
£100 Total
Worth it? For a Cup owner, I think so.
Yep, I got mine years ago from R-Sport Wimbledon.
Heel/toe changes?
Watch this - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hCSGdzrsG3s - skip to about 1:45 to see a couple of HT down shifts.
to this
replacing this (urgh)
Feels better, seems to pull at high revs better (I'm sure there's some ram effect from the CAF?), definitely sounds better. Rolling road early September will say if it really does perform better.
For the cost, this is a great mod IMO.
It's been fine. I've never been one to rush changes as I don't 1/4 mile so I've been fairly gentle with it.
Also I heel/toe downchange so I'm never using the clutch or gearbox to slow the car down - I think that helps hugely.
I love my R-sport ECU - the extra revs really help on track where you'd otherwise run out and need to change up a gear before just before a corner, you can hang on just a little bit longer and save a pintless change.
You've done similar things to me...would be interesting to see how yours...
If it was the one with the bonnet diamond, then it was the first ever Cliosport member's car I laid eyes on...met him en route to my first meet.
Had underbody neons, flip down screens from the roof, and 78 million decibels thumpin'.
I almost turned and headed home.
Last time I had a solid clear lap that was 'on it' was about 18 months ago - 1:30.
My driving has changed so much since, and I know how poor my lines and approach to Combe were back then.
5 seconds to find though...at least I wouldn't get too embarrassed!
The thing is Craig, some people turn their head and look before, say, pulling out of a junction...but they don't really look.
Also, if you're waiting to pull out and looking along a road at approaching traffic, the cars you see are not moving much relative to the background (coming at you and...
No probs fella LOL
In each of those launches I would have spun into the limiter if I wasn't gentle with the throttle but still got away sharpish. From the other thread a few techniques emereged so I thought I'd share mine.
Plus, you know I'm an ASW ;)
Good for sun too. If the sun's low and behind you and you're on a straight road, you're almost invisible to any cars in front of you unless you have your lights on, everything blacks out in your rear view because of the sunlight. Putting your lights on makes you visibly stand out to cars ahead.
I think that's why mine's a quick one, mine are nothing like this...that's terrible!
Good progress so far, I'll be watching with interest :approve:
Oh, and err, get the sound deadening out...there's almost 10kgs of it.
