    Camshafts question

    Both were about even I think. Both cars had manifold and head work along with the usual exhausts and Ik plus a custom remap so they should have been dead even only difference was the cams.

    £130 from a Renaulrt specialiost upto £250 from Renault most are about £200 though. Depends where abouts you live though.

    You've damage the stupid little thingies in the gearbox that hope the dif together it sounds like. I'm sure your car should have a driveshaft pins holes in which case you should fit the pins. I'll find my Mk1 Cio book (I assume the one you own) and tell you what the thingie that broke is.

    The fatty - I wouldn't recomend this insurance companies won't like it disconnecting the wiring though you could say was just a faultly loose wire.

    Remaps for £350 now if you realy want. Nope there no have a go programming the only thing you could do is unplus one of the throttle potentialometers (which works out throttle position) as idle is then increased to 1.3k.

    172 ones won't fit without modifications and new brackets making up but its not a huge job. Best go get some 1.8 16V or Williams or Mk2 phase 2 disks pads brakcets etc as they are a direct bolt on there slightly bigger at 259mm disk vs 239 as you use.

    The cat thingie is how many holes the cat has a decat has 0 as there just one bit hole the 172 has a restrictive cat with a cel of 400 the 182 has a 200 cel cat from memory. The smaller the number the less restrictive.

    No fuel tank is included but Matt would sell you one with new lines thats not a huge amount of extra work. Maybe £100 for the extra bits then again you can have the dci tank cleaned so you can use it with petrol since both cars use the same tanks lines and pumps. Its not realy economical...

    Its nothing to do with the VVT controlling the timing (that only activated between 1.6k and 6.5k and then its only under certain conditions) its just the way the cars mapped.
