    Evo gone a better driven I'm manly enough (just) to admit that him in the Williams vs me in the Cup he would still be quicker. The car does underperform I think we all know a new bottom end is the key to more power I domn't see why with the mods its got and a good bottom end it wouldn't be one...

    Yep Williams and 1.8 16v are welcome. Jsut a shame there very few attend. There were 2 Mk1's at Oulton last year mine and Hippys race car.

    Clutch mounting is different the clucth will be bigger. The greabox is the same as fitted to the new Clio 105 dci with different. Best drop the whole engine and gearbox in if you wanted a 6 speed then again dropping a VAG 6 speeds a better idea.

    Cup on 70k

    No reason for it to have been on the motorway at all. I know of a few Cups which would if the owners still have owned them have done over 80k and they were driven to death all the time. Its a bargin though I'd buy it.

    Say £1.5k for parts then labour is dependant on who wants the chalenge I'd say £3k for labour if they wanto a project. best do it yourself but the car will probably be off the road some time.

    Looks fine to me maybe a bit lower at the front of higher at the back to even it out but each to there own. To be truly low you have to be driving onto plank of wood and then still have to have someone rock the car just to get a super low jack under it. I think mine was set with 6cm clearance...

    The figures don't sound to bad from what I've guessed as you cars true value and the 172's true value. Doesn't seem to matter much birthdays and NCB your only looking at a few month having to pay a bit more.

    Its expensive say £500 at a none Renault place. £700 at Renault. Alos the brakes may need doing front and rear so that expensive about £400.

    Yep depends how much you want to spend you'd need an ecu adjuster to run more fueling so thats £500. A second hand charger from a mini Coooper S some piping and a lot of work and you could have say 160hp say 180 is you lower the compression ratio with another head gasget. A good 2.0 Willaims...

    5th is on a seperate thingie so its 1~4 which are the problems a second hand box is say £50 then say £300 fitment and £20 for other bits. Might as well chnag the clutch whilst your at it.

    I don't think so. The circlips if they brake mean the greabox doens't transmit the power.

    Whats sort of figures trade in etc are you looking at? And what about the 172 milage etc? Insurance extra isn't that much though.

    Not a bad price its likly to be driven hard possibly on track otherwise most people would have opted for the full fat. See whats its like but I'd buy it particualy if the dropped the price say £300 since the 72k service isn't cheap (cambelts etc)

    New Caliper Guide Bolts - Torque and Questions

    40Nm for the caliper guide bolts. They should be replaced every time thats why they supply new ones. I'd stick locking compound on there not needed and I've not sometimes on my car in the past but why risk it.

    It does silence it slightly. Nope I don't think theres likely to be a second sensor just after the cat. If there is then just unplug it. Freddynamic on here has one for sale.

    If your tracking it get some good pads DS2500's some braided lines and good fluid. There a huge selection don't go for any standard stuff though and make sure you bleed the brakes fully. Yozzassport sells all the stuff including new disk for £199 inc delivery which is the best value you'll...

    172 Rumbling noise when braking

    You can fit them in whatever order you want best to chnage disks and pads togther though as otherwise you have to take everything off that you've put back on when you did the other job. I think the best idea is supposed to be to bed new disks to old pads but there no point IMO then again I'm lazy.

    Not to bad for me Alarm/central lcoking issues took some time to fix Sunroof rattles. Starting issues linked to faultly glow plugs leads.
