sorry to hear your story, but if your gonna "milk" the insurance, then boasting about it on an open forum which the other party could easily read isnt a wise decision :)
i hope everything ends up ok, im sure it will.
humming sound could be wheel bearing, but you would here it at around 30mph too. Wind noise at 70mph is common.
best to quickly remove the pads to check the wear on them... they may just need a good clean.
