i think its hit or miss whether yours moves or not. i know of 3 now that have moved so much they've melted the surround. luckily mine hasnt moved at all from the moment it was fitted... it just becomes erect when its warm :)

mitch, the problem with the golf Gti is... only the really early ones, and the really new ones are any good. The ones in between were nothing special at all tbh.

you could have had a blast around in mine had you have asked Mitch. i went from the 4x4 to my 172 early last year, and have enjoyed 16 months of mixed driving, on roads and on tracks. One of the most enjoyable parts of owning an RenaultSport is attending the RS Trackdays, they're awsome fun...

wow, what a useful guide :rasp: ;) as said in the guide, a small electrial screwdriver should be able to lever them out easily enough. The whole silver connector slides out upwards. :)

will do :) apparently they've: "tweaked it by tightening some bits and loosened other bits, and redesigned the locking pins".

my mount went off to TomTom today. i'll report back on the progress, and the quality of the "new style" mount :) luckily because i work at PC World they sort me out pretty quickly, and i have a direct contact at TomTom to b**ch too :approve:

the mount is quite poor yes... im having to exchange my mount at work due to the unit becomming disconnected and shutting off due to the batterys running out. It seems the contacts are poor because if you push it, the power light comes back on. James, yes it bleeps. you can adjust how early...
