basically if the rust is bad, walk away. If the arches have been done they rust up agian within a couple of years (they rust from the inside outwards) the only way to make sure it never came back would be to replace the metal on the arches.

As said expect to get about about 22mpg round town from it. You can however get mid 30's (no joke) with motorway driving.

Have you tried a search ?? Search for things like 'mk1 clio buying advice' 'buying a valver' 'buying a williams' - ok I know that a maxim isn't one of the latter cars, but they are mk1's too & have a few threads with decent info in them. The main problem though is rusty rear arches & sills.

Loads of bigger engined cars are coming down in price. With that car though, the colour doesn't appeal to eveyone & the interior is awful, plus the miles on it are loads, so all in all it'll take a bit to shift it (imo) hence the cheaper price. Plus as it's an 04 reg it'll need the camblet &...

If they are to be used as show plates ok fair enough, for road use though - no way, plus old plates lok sh*t on new cars.

Neil, are you talking in general or has some one copied you ?? In general, if it's stuff like an RS grill on a clio, everyone has done it now. I find that mods to cars on here tend to go in trends, one person does it then if it looks good others do it too.
