there are 2 different types of exhaust in the Mk1 172's.
Mine (march 2001) has 2 lambda sensors, one before and one after the cat... so a decat on mine will make the light come on.
Some earlier 172s only had 1 lambda sensor, making them easier to decat :)
Just a heads up for Tesco Online Quotes (and direct line)...
they quite often get your car wrong when you put in the reg number (they think mine is a williams) so double check that if you're getting a quote! :)
Tesco do accept mods.
I think everyone knows Has's car by now... its the definition of Modified, and he is insured with Tesco all mods declared quite cheaply :)
dude, i didnt see you at PC World on Saturday, but i saw you today! lol

if thats your car i saw you going along Barrack Road today at about 4pm heading towards Iford. If it wasnt you, it was another black Ph1 with 17"s and angel eye lights! ;)
Bonjour... thanks for the compliment! :)
what time was it? i always keep an eye out on the cars coming and going outside... makes the boredom go quicker. You should have come in and asked for Fubar, i wasn't in the mood for work on Saturday.
got a pic of your car? i might have seen it.

Should find a good example for £6000-£7000.
Exhausts... K-tec Racing do a good stealth system which is stainless steel and retains the "unmodified" look if thats what you're after. K-TEC or you could go with an excellent custom exhaust from ProSpeed. PRO-SPEED
They are Insurance Group 16...
