Continuous banging/knocking present under hard acceleration in 1st/2nd gears. Its all those torque's when you floor it... the engine just wants to escape! Mike clarified this for me today, its usually the offside engine mount.

im pretty sure both Mike and Ady have bought the VDO screens seperate from Ebay, then bought the SatNav dash part from Renault. Looks spot on, especially if you get the VDO SatNav to match ;)

im in the process of writing a guide for taking the dash off... will be on my site www.fubarnet.com when its been written :) its an easy process tho... you just need to know where all the screws are!

I see lots of people asking where to mount their crossovers for their component speakers. Well i did mine today and found an ideal place in a Mk2 Ph1. They are behind the dash, under the central clock unit. They fit perfectly, are out of sight and easy to get to. So thought i'd share it...

i did one side like that rick... but it took far to long so gave up on the other side. Heh.

I put the tweeters in the original location. its suprising how SHITE the standard ones are... you only notice after changing them!

anything i can do to prevent this happening again? i assume it will be fine whilst the engine is running?

had the dash lit up... with HU, amp and int light on. The amp is 4x 120w RMS Phoenix Gold. Looks like im jumping the car in the dark/rain :(

Fitted my amp, sub and comps and finally got it all running. Unfortunately, my car now doesnt run. I spent about an hour setting up the SQ on the amp, and fine tuning without the engine running... and now my car wont start - the battery is completely dead. Surely only running 1 amp for an...

me too! ;) havent experienced them in snow yet though, and dont really want to! lol

the "right" dimensions ;) its measured by the internal volume of the box. There's a way of working it out thats far too clever for me.
