My key cost me £98, including coding etc. I have a brand new one doin nothing, but they have to be ordered specifically for your car from France, so second hand ones are of no use.

Highly recommend the Alpine CDA-9853R. You can change the buttons to a choice of 256 colours for a perfect match. I also have the adapter which makes the stalk controls and the display still work. Got the lot from CarAudioDirect for about £250.

more than likely a short in the circuits somewhere. The lights are probably powered by a single bulb... could possibly be blown?

just make sure you pull the dash towards you (towards the back of the car) and NOT upwards... this way the airbag will be fine :) Taken my dash off more times than ive filled up with petrol lol.

the power comes from the quick release clamp that comes with it James, so if you put it there without the clamp, then you would be running on battery all the time.
