There shocks with adjustable spring seats so the spring can sit lower on the shock and so handling potential can be increases where normal seat height shocks would become uncomfortable.
Some coilovers are adjustable damping as well but you dont realy need them.
Coilovers are the best mod you...
To work out drag you need the Cdp and the frontal area and the top speed car car attains and how much HP the car makes when the cars flat out .
Take for example a car with a Cdp of 0.3 and a frontal area of 3m squared (32.3 feet squared)
It has a equivalent frontal drag of 32.3 x 0.3 = 9.69ft...
The cup racers use uprated rear engine mounts. Getting hold of them wont be easy and they maybe uprated for other reasons and have other unwanted side effects.
Im very suprised the metal has sheared though and the rubber is OK.
Stickly throttle body cables can be a problme.
Just wear and tear otherwise ie shock clutch and the 72 k service is expensive.
You pay that much for insurance that Id say get a 172 or similar if you can afford it.
Coilovers are replacment shocks and springs but the height of the spring seat can be adjusted so the car can go much lower. Also the damping rate is sometimes adjustabel on them.
They are designed for a firmer ride but handle better and are better damped that Renault stuff often.
As for when...
Got to the garage and see what youll offer you. Then stick it up on the forum and see what people are willing to offer. You might find someone near you wanting to buy it for spares or to strip it out for a track car. for more than the garage will give you.
You have a 1k tolerance on servicing. However you have the issue that the car hasnt been serviced till to late anyway.
Personally Id get the local garage to do the 36k service if the cars over 3yrs old or if its under that take it to Renault for £220~£300 for its 36k service.
If you go over...
J3ned is writing a guide for how to convert it so we just have to wait.
He is using a Golf 2WD box with the TT engine so the all wheel drive problem doesnt exist.
The chassis codes are CB1N for the Cup and CB0M for the full weight 172.
However a 172 Mk2 might be CB1N.
As for telling if its an import the alarm is the easiest way to tell if theres an aftermarket one but apart from that and window etching you cannot tell without ringing Renault themselves.
Tell your insurance company or remove them
Look at Conner on here the crashed his car then the insurance wouldnt pay out and he had to get a personal loan to fix his car.
Some people buy Renault so cheap as they work for Renault that they sell them after a year for more than they paid and get a new one so they have a free car as such all the time no bills to pay.
Just cheak for tyre wear how the clucth is and for stone chips or crash damge thats about all you...
What about taking another policy out with a company who will insure you and cancel the policy after a week.
Many companies give you a 14 days period if you cancel within 14 days they refund you the full amount.
Disconnect the battery and leave it 10 minutes.
Also Id personally (cos Im a wimp) pull the fuse on it.
You shouldnt need to leave it 10 minutes though a few seconds and it should discharge but best be safe rarther than pay a fortune (~£500) for a new airbag and airbag computer.
Its not to bad.
Ill try and write some stuff up but so long as you can go flat out in a car you can work out the power very accuratly with a calculator.
You sure? I know of a few press cars out there on the public market. I know there was a few Ford GTs scrapped for other reason.
The dealer tried to sell me the demo car saying it had been treated gently I didnt point out hed just hit the limiter leaving the showroom from cold.
The chassic number for the Mk1 is CBOM and the Cup is CB1N.
Aux belt is done as part of the service and is about £250 total but it depends where you are and what you supply dealers often knock a fair bit off if you supply your won oil which you can buy for less elsewhere.
182 SYNTHESE 16" DARK GREY 8 SPOKE ALLOY 8200394424 £98.00 + VAT each without tyres.
Dont bother trying to upgrade to the CUp pack for one you cannot do it and secondly coilovers (when they come out) will be many times better than the Cup pack IMO.
36k is a check on the aux belt sometimes it doesnt need to be changed but its usualy recomended.
The cam belt is 72k.
You can usually tell its an import as the alarm is an aftermarket one (sensors on the door pillars will be different or missing) and also the windoes wont be etched.
The Clio day and night mounts are the ones you need.
Your best starting with a whole doner GTT rarther than just an engine though.
It costs about £1.5k in labour to have one dropped in. However most people have other work done on the engine at the same time so price will rise quickly.
I think youve answered your own question.
Id personally stick with the Clio and accept a few dents and scratches and some plastic door covers it will be a lot less expensive that a different car and how much time will the whole family achaully use car?
You want the family to be safe and...
The computer on the Clio is very accurate since it runs off the injector computer and as long as you leave it for a hundred or so miles will be within a fraction of a percent of the real figure.
As for the fule gauge well its not going to win any awards 1/2 emply on the gauge means 1/3 empty...
