Most say a bearing change isn't worth trying as you muller it trying to get it into the disc, so easier and more worth while to just change the whole disc.
I've read loads about this, because I'm sad.
I don't think you could do climate, well without a lot of effort, but everything else is transferable, it just involves some jiggery pokery with the wiring.
Any specific questions, ask away.
Get hold of some second hand shocks off here for pennies, and a pair of rear discs, about £90 and the cheapest damn pads you can find, rear brakes on the clio are useless anyways.
Pretty sure you can buy them from renault, but they're not cheap.
An alternative, is to find some stiff rubber/ bendy plastic tubing, slice down it with a stanley knife, run it around your cut out and trim the excess.
LOL! Mental wasn't the word Danielson, going through the blackwall every day was probably damaging other motorists ears!
I'm not 100% sure it is as quick, but I do believe a lot of it is the sound, I guess once I've had a play with a few mate's car's, I'll know.
This isn't any ordinary...
Re: Mk1 F4R/172'd Track Car Project
Cracking work with the stud conversion, the level of devotion really does impress me.
You can throw 0000's at a clio and make it epic, but I don't think there is any substitute for just having a go yourself.
I'll swing by, that's for sure. :)
My mid week meets always consist of me and one of a handful of other members, fixing my car, so it'll be a nice change. lol!
The best spec possible IMO, not sure on being the best colour, but it's certainly one of them.
Very good choices you've made there, only thing is I wish the recaro's were black, would look so much smarter.
More than greatful, Sir Budgie.
Just popping to the gym, I'll check this out again when I return, I reckon i've ruined the giant washer thing already though, f**k sake!
Oh and your grandad drives a CS? SRS? (I know they come on non sport too, but a man can dream) lol!
I've already looked Dan, and the only part that is in your pic that is slightly hidden is the bit that I need.
I have no idea what it is, what it looks like, or how I get it?
Its the bit the compression nut (tiny thing 17mm nut) sits on top of, so that it doesn't disappear inside the donut...
I've changed my top mounts out from compbrake, back to renault, but glimpsing at a few pictures, where I can't quite see properly, I'm 99% sure my setup is missing something.
Has anyone got a pic of the full suspension setup for the 172???
My compression nut is sitting down far inside the...
I think it's more a case of revised design/non oem, you may find the new-er renault ones, on a new arm, look more like your one from a motor factor.
I replaced the balljoint on my ph1 172 with a part from the local motor factors (the 12mm variety) as you will see there are two sizes, and it fit...
Swapped out the exhaust this weekend, having gone from my hilariously loud longlife system, unsilenced centre section to a very nicely built, silenced powerflow, the Clio feels slow, looking at the speedo, it definately isn't slow.
Anyone else swapped out their noisy exhaust for something quiet...
Standard ones are quite expensive, depends what you need to replace, but if like me you have to replace some monkey's compbrake things, you need the whole kit, the top nut with rubber, the large rubber ring, the metal inside, and the small nut, it came in at aroud £90
Epic pics, looks like a great show, love the random perv shots too. lol!
Agree with the re-size. Seriously annoying, especially now we have no side bar to take up space.
