I guess I've just never got round to it...never seen the point when I can push past most things on track under extreme load without to much trouble. That and the fact that I cover 30k miles per year means for me it's never needed anything else.
Having said that, I do need to retire my Cup...
My blood was up LOL
I guess I can't blame the Mini...I mean...he was hanging on to the back of a Caterham and GT3 RS or maybe they'd just passed him and he was trying to prove a point...but he could of waited.
Looks like a good day.
That new resurface has fantastic grip when it's dry eh?
Must get back there this summer...it's been p***ing down for two of the last three times I've been since they did the whole track :(
Completely forgot about this...
I'd had a really frustrating session, getting held up everywhere with some shockingly bad driving, so I'm cooling down then this happened...
Almost had me...
'tis a very good point Mark...
But I do like my car to be loose at the back...and I tend to run pressures 2-3 PSI higher at the back rather than the front which for me keeps it set just how I like it.
Not very technical I know - and out of the crate I do find that, even running sticky...
I've started trail braking fairly deep at times into bends which means the whole car steers from the back and rotates. Also, inducing understeer on purpose in faster turns knowing that a very slight left-foot drag on the brakes mid-turn keeps the nose in.
That's the way I drive, so a standard...
I've worked with Sage Line50 for various companies for the last few years...does exactly what it says on the tin, is easy to get to grips with and not overly complicated from a "what the f*** do I know about accounts" point of view.
Me! Spotted at last...was just filling up before heading to Devon for the Airfield day...
Skinhead LOL? It's called letting your hair fall out gracefully...;)
He speaketh the truth.
I was solo, he was two up, so you can't have any of this weight nonsense either - barely a length in it after 400m.
But you did say you'd had something polished on yours Dan?
I had a fantastic day, thanks to everyone for behaving themselves as it really was touch 'n' go at the beginning with the insurance issue.
My nephew Tom was grinning all the way home...he now knows why I'm always banging on about the RS Clios...and his ride in the V6 donutting with Clarkie...
LOL - nothing in it...are you blind?
The Elise did not, as you say, block the Focus on the last exit, the Elise moved over to let me and the Focus past as we were both clearly quicker than it was...and then finally, after 5 laps of me being sat on his arse, the Focus also did the decent...
35yo + my wife as named driver
172 Cup with declared mods
Live in a sleepy village (average age is 80 or something LOL)
£245 fully comp last year (but then my missus does work for Aviva/Norwich Union)
Continental Sportcontact on mytyres are about £65, then you have to get them fitted. They're not as competitive as they used to be.
ProTyres in Fareham threw one on for me yesterday for £67 all in - highly recommended.
There was a Zonda having some new rear boots fitted while I was there...
Looks like a cracking day...weather looked better than I had at Bedford too.
Got to get up to Donny sometime...can't wait to try the Craner curves, then there's Cadwell, and Oulton as well...
We need a southerners tour oop north I tell thee :)
I have to conceed though that I was running a set of very tired Yoko A032's to help me along as well :o
And it might have looked like it/I was on rails but believe me, it was on the edge, moving about quite a bit from turn-in to exit...was the last session of the day and I was determined to...
First off...huge thanks to James for sending me the DVD of this - this is filmed from his seriously rapid nicely driven VTS following me pushing an Ultima along.
I know they're ultimately quicker than a 172 Cup, and I don't profess to have a faster car than an Ultima.
But, it doesn't...
It is, regular stops from 100mph+.
They still kinda hauled me up, but I lacked confidencce in them which is what I'm looking for when pressing on.
Better give Mr Hughes a call I think :)
