Yep it'll have a cold map that will limit the revs until warm,
also even when warm it'll have a 6800 limit in 1st & maybe 2nd,
then 3rd 4th & 5th will be 7600 or 7800 I can't remember tbh.
Also your engine wont last long if you're booting it when it's stone cold. :nono:
Discovery +1?
The only thing I don't like about this new series is adverts every 15mins instead off 30mins. :dapprove:
Might series link it in future so I can fast forward them.
I'd say it's more then likely using a Fastchip map if it idles at 1100rpm from cold,
they really help the engine run smoother on startup and get rid of alot of the lumpiness the engines usually have with OEM maps,
not to mention smoothing out the power and torque curve so it has a bit more grunt...
Well mine's remapped with an RSTuner box from Fastchip,
on start up it idles at 1100rpm for a bit, then when it's up to temp it sits at 900rpm on idle,
standard engine maps idle at 800 or 850rpm I think.
Keep an eye on yours from cold and when it's up to temp,
if it's the same as mine then...
Uniroyal RS2s are simply amazing in the wet, but today I noticed the outer quater of mine are almost bald,
which is down to me throwing it in to corners in this warm weather.
It's my fault completely, as they are simply not meant to be ragged in warm weather,
i've only had mine since December...
DCI Raz came over and fitted my group N engine and gearbox mounts,
and I helped a little and supplied him with Dr Pepper all day.
I'd have been f*cked trying to do that on my own, partly because bits of it were a two man job,
but mostly because I had no clue how to do it.
He also spent an hour...
Right just in case anyone does a search for engine/gearbox mount torque settings in the future,
they're all in this thread.

It's weird how certain colours make these look sh*t, but other colours make them look good,
and a decent set of wheels make them look even better.
Yours is the latter.
I see no point in changing either, they always keep my premium around £450 fully comp,
and I know I can do what I want to the car without having to worry about it.
Oh right, maybe it's another modified insurer i'm thinking of that has an age restriction.
I love how relaxed Brentacre are on the phone,
they just don't care what you do to your car as long as you tell them.
Also my renewal was actually cheaper than last years premium.
I thought that from the pic of him rummaging around in the boot,
that looks like a Valver and it looks to be Naples Red.
Bloody good choice on his part.
Who thinks you're spoilt, it's not like you've got a Porsche is it? ;)
It's a £500quid Mini that needs work,
a young lad like you learning mechanics should have something like that to work on.
I'm almost as excited about it as you are ffs. lol
Doesn't matter tbh, i've always assumed i'd be buying any old Mini that wasn't rusty,
then dropping in a 1275 engine, then bolting on Cooper everything.
The thing that's doing my head in is I have to save £600quid for a full belt service including dephaser,
I could buy a f*cking project Mini for that ffs.
Jolly good. :approve:
I'm saving for a full belt service atm, but I keep looking for decent chassis and 1275 engines.
I have considered just getting a 1275 engine for £300quid and taking it apart, then putting it back together,
plus I want to fit it with webbers/twin carbs.
