Does it do it all the time?
It can but it has to be quiet hot the engine coolent to do it.
It can stay on for 12minues on the 172.
Id question whay a 1.2 would need to though.
Box isnt amazing if your going to absolutly hammer it.
Clutch is very likly going to need an upgrade for hard driving a lighened car will mean you might be able to get away with it though.
The only other week points are rattles squeeks and the odd electric gremlin.
They make 166hp or about...
If you have any kids then Id get the Leon if not or have only very young kids get the 182.
I like the Leon but its a bit of a family car IMO nothing wrong with that but if you dont need a car that big then Id go for something sporty.
He needs it remappaed first.
He wont make much more power than some other Clios on here at the moment as he has massive underfueling problem.
Jays N2O 172 car is interesting though.
If you lower it only slightly you probably wont notice much noise etc.
Sttiffer ride is controlled by the dampers so if you dont change them it ill be the same (although there not as good as changing the dampers).
I use a mixture of 1/8 linseed oil (the stuff you use on criscket bats) and 7/8 white spirts. Rub it on with a cloth then let it dry, sometimes you need more than one coat though.
Best idea Ive found is to remove the bump strips etc as if you get the polish removal on the bodywork it makes it...
Just get some other sports aftermarket suspension or springs and handling will be as good if not better than the Cup pack.
The enault guy is lying they have to honour the 3yr warently so long as you tell Renault Uk about the car. There just trying to convince you to pay for the UK car.
You...
I wouldnt personally but its up to you.
You can buy bits for less than Renault sell them.
You might have just had a bad few bits and never have any more problem for the next 3yrs but then again this is why companies sell warenties as they get you worried. You might not have needed new shafts...
Make sure you get this on paper there exact desciption. And what the exess is or the amount of times you can claim.
They could say broke parts are down to the weather ie driving in the rain caused it to rust etc.
There buusinesses dont foget so are out to make money Id stick the £ in the...
Car ~£10,400 I think interest included.
New bulbs ~£40 ( me ca seems to break them all the time)
£40 of polish stuff.
So say £10,500
Id hate to think about other bills, but
£2k fuel
£2k insurance.
£260 tax, service.
1000hrs or so of my time sitting driving it.
£180 in tyres...
Dont bother IMO the Renault one would be the one to buy if you could but even thats not worht it.
The amount they cover is minimal and since wear and tear can be blamed for most stuff then they wont pay out.
Have you tried the breakers.
Inficar usually have a few cars.
You might be suprised how much Renault charges for some prices there quite cheap sometimes.
Superchip are the only company in the UK I know about who can change the ECU programming and remap the ECU for you. Plus they have a good warently.
The 100dci is very expensive to buy and IMO Id look at a 172/182 personally. But it is good on the fuel and cheaper to run.
Ive got the 65dci which is stock.
It is likely to be making 70hp though anf 185NM torque as it had a few miles and DCIs are under rated for the German tax laws.
I want to get it on a dyno some time but missed the recient NW one as was in Manchester on a business course.
0-60 has been...
Yep similar gains the remap will be more efficent and better and should make more power as it properly made (not meaning to be unfair to tunning boxes) but since its designed around the engine it might not as it has safer limits ie runs at lower temps for long life.
Blimy diesel thread how did I miss this.
The dci claims 200NM torque but at 1900 or so and 100hp.
In real life after a few k it will make ~220NM and 110hp.
Remaps will get it to some decient figures the injectors etc are bigger than the 80 and it has a better (higher pressure turbo) so...
Fred has a 172 derivative engine going in soon does he count if so then his will be the most modified Id think.
There have been 3 turbo owners though on here but they only seemed to visit once or twice.
The parts are availiable see the drawing but I cannot get prices the ones for the Mk2 are £91 but the Mk2 1 parts might be a lot cheaper.

I have the file on how to remove it.
PM me you email address and Ill send it to you.
You can remove the head unit easily with 4 small screw drivers or as Ive managed 4 ink bits ie the thin pipes hoolding the ink in a biro to work as well you just push hem down the 4 holes about 3 inches and...
My mates in the US at the moment and can get us a cheap IPod
£150 for the mini and £220 for the 40 gig one. Anyone know if they are that good? And probably more importantly rugged as Ive brok 4 mini disk players up to now.
No other cheaper head unit? Ive got the Renault CD changer so would...
You havnt got the highest milage one Ive seen one with 110k on it.
There is at least 1 dci out there 2002 reg with 60k on it and that was months ago.
But thats still good going.
Converting a racer into RHD and making it road legal wont be easy, be better IMO to buy an older 172 and use...
