Get a 1.2 coilovers and better brakes some track experiance etc and youll be quicker than a 182 on the track, build up 2 yrs or so NCB before jumping up to something preferably a Cup or 172 which is cheaper...

It usually means you can drive nay other car 3rd party as long as th car is insured with someone else this si to stop people buying a cheap car fully comp and then driving a Cosworth as a second car on the third party cheap as the other car needs to be fully insured with someone else.

Id go for a Mk2 personally, the extra power to weight of the cup isnt massive and the suspension on it can be made better than a cup is. Plus I like my toys.
I like the Mk 1 172 looks more grown up the Mk 2 looks more fashionable.
In my view lower it and stick some Mk 2 172 tyres on it (never been a fan of the Mk 1 one much)
The Serv light indivates a problem which needs fixing rather than it needing servicing in the normal meaning.

Max power should be able 4k ( but is usually about 3.5k) so changing up at 4k will maximise acceleration.
I usually rev to about 2~2.5k and chnage up or rev it to 4k and jusmp a gear or two.
Best keep the revs around 2.2k or so as thats where max torque is.
At the end of the day Renault do well and since are a business thats all they need. Since magazines change there ideas about the best hot hatch every time a new one comes out it would be to expensive to keep the 182 etc as the best ever without implication other factors Im sure the ultimate hot...
