Cheaper to transplant and tunned a GTT than go though the work of 16V turboing the GTT has all the bits got turboing on the engine already
Turboing the 16V makes for more power simply because its more CC but there a lot of work turning a N/A engine into a turbo one.
I think its about £1.5k...
Have you tried the DVLA they may be more hlep.
This shows new levels of Renault incompetance the reply you got. How thy though you would be on about a new 16V is Mk2 Clio is beyond me.
Have you tried the breakers?
Yoiu migh get it a bit cheaper but Id be suprised they know the price of stuff and dont discount much from what Ive found though.
I cannot see why you should have to pay 50% contribution or any for a known problem. Try another dealership my original one said they wouldnt fix my dip stick under warently and wanted £20 or somehting to fix it another one fitted it no problem for free.
Is the chassic bent as well as thats an easy way to write them off.
Its unbelivable the prices especially if the airbag goes of there ~£200+ each and the computer is ~£250 I think.
Least they were insured I supposed. Shame though what are you going to get? Any idea of payout amounts I asume...
The amount of money you save in fuel + not stopping at the garage buying food etc is a laod could probably buy a older 16V etc with the difference.
A 182 you might if your carful and use some care get 40mpg out of it the same car would get you 60 in the dci so savings are less. Assuming you do...
Shouldnt be a problem its like the weight of 3 adults Id guess and so imagine driving the car with 3 people in it.
Just minimise the problem by taking as much weight out of the car when you go then fulling it with as much of the stuff in the caravan ie the gas bottle to make the car wieght...
1k is possible you just need to have patience. I did adverage 85 on my boring trips to and from work for a while. and it was still climbing (was just getting used to easy driving).
Quite impressive though the dci All it needs is an extra 200hp and would be the best engined Clio ever.
Makro have a 182 for £9800 I think only an extra £800 onto of a dci prices for way more of a car.
What about an older ie 51 52 reg 1.2 or dci 65 would be a load cheaper newer Clios loose value like a brick as you know.
After all if your cars £5k and you have a grand then you only need a £4k...
What do you mean by track day? Sometimes there not timed and so normal insurance coveres them as there deemd to be similar to driving on a toll road or private road where no speed limits etc are imposed.
Sky insurance are supposed to be good no idea of contact details though.
