Why??!!?? I hate these kinds of jobs.
I have removed the bumper, battery and induction kit to open up the engine bay a bit and that has made a difference.
Car is leaking power steering fluid at an alarming rate. Think I have found the issue - the high pressure hose (towards the bulk head it is in some insulation stuff and goes into the pressure switch thing by the alternator) is leaking. Well everything else is bone dry and around the crimped...
It is really growing on me too. Making me get restless to buy my mates (same one who used to own this) E34 535i. I just need to sell a car first to do it!
Not after boost personally, prefer NA and the noise it makes! I am only being OCD with getting the engine re-built as it has just ticked over 170k miles and with the extra power through it with cams and ITBs I don't know it will last for long! Plus the enginebuild was a lot less than £4k but...
So bit more progress on this. New engine is in. Was really easy to do once we got our heads around the starter motor as the loom on the engine and car were slightly different but did the same thing - just joined up differently half way down the loom.
Other things have been done like the...

Renault Clio 1.4 Dynamique - Silver 3door
107000miles on the clock.
MoT till August 2017.
V5 present.
£900 but will consider reasonable offers
Car is in very good mechanical condition, drives...
Also make sure you put a small punch mark where you want to drill as the slightly curved surface is a nightmare to start drilling on, otherwise the drill will wonder.
Stop it!!! As I so would tomorrow.
Going to wait on this job offer I am hopefully receiving this week first then I can see what my financial situation is. Plus I want to wait to sell at least one Clio first, probably the normal one after it's MoT test in two weeks.
No pictures unfirtunately, but same colour and wheels as this one
It's technically not for sale, but he said he would sell it to me. He doesn't need to get rid of it. No sure exact price but it does sound reasonable looking on eBay. It is the same friend who my step dad bought the E36 from...
Did a few more things that have been annoying me for a while....
Finally sorted the brakes out. The Ferodo DS2500 pads for the front I bought I couldn't get to fit, they were just far to thick to go over the disc. So got some Brembo OEM ones, had these on before and liked them just wanted...
This car has sort of temporarily put a stop to Clio progress, but it does give me a chance to save up for engine mods next year!
But basically, me and my step dad are off to the Nurburgring in 8 weeks (17th September). The current car list on the drive way is my Clio and his Corsa. Would love...
Nice and simple your wiring solution. I bought some cable tidy that I ran down the sides of the car and cable tied that to the chassis to hide my wires and that. Didn't think to hide it like you have.
That is a nice colour you are going for, little lighter than what I have. What are you going...
Road legal. I enjoy driving it so it's not just a track car.
it does play on your mind havig to drive it home, so it calms me down a bit and try not to be a hero on track.
Would like to have a tow car and trailer, but don't have the space to store a trailer. But would still keep it road legal...
I'm happy to remove the material off the tabs, but didn't want to remove any off the other part of the backing they are now the same "length" as the old pads so should fit nicely.
The only weight saving thing I want are poly carb windows but other things are more on the list first. I am not skinning panels or removing anything from the loom. In theory my car could be put back together with ease as I haven't cut any cables, the CD changer wires are still under the seats...
Really, were you bored?! Haha. Thanks! I've learnt and re-learnt loads doing it, got out of practice since moving out and going to uni.
I know it has been a bit slow as I don't live where the car is kept, hopefully I get offered a new job (been told I should get a formal offer this week) and I...
The spanners and adjusters are kept in the car so there really is no excuse! Fantastic, glad it is an easy job! The bottom adjusters things for height, top for spring rating/stiffness?
I hope they are the right pad as I can't send them back as I have ground two down!!
Good, everyone is saying what I was thinking. Hope cleaning the caliper and no shims will be the biggest difference and not more off the pad. As the pads are now the same 'length' as the previous pads so fit in...
I painted mine with a brush with Dulux gloss. Less than a litre was used, did a few coats too. The finish is good and many people have complimented it. And you have a tin of paint for touch up as it is inevitable to get marked.
Although I would reccomend fitting some form of matting in the...
Yeah I haven't touched ride height, but now I know it needs doing as I noticed the other drive shaft has done the same. Presume it is an eay job to do, like wheel off and move the right adjuster nut thing? Or do I need to remove the lower shock bolts? I have never changed ride height on any car!
Bought some Ferodo DS2500 pads and had a bit of issue fitting them.
I removed some of the paint/material on the ends to get them to fit
Managed to get them into the calipers after a very long time and a lot of struggle but they wouldn't slide. Got annoyed as the car needed to be working so...
Did a but of work on the car this weekend...changed the front discs and pads. Wanted to remove the arch linings at the same time to clean the crud from behind, but ran out of time. Plus one of the lining bolts was about to round off and I didn't have a replacement.
Old stuff ready to come off...
If you are going to take the sound deadening off the roof with a heat gun, make sure there is no moisture on the outside on top of the roof.....my roof was wet and I burnt water marks into the lacquer and the roof was ruined.
