My gargles when it is cold, like pulling off in the morings and lifting off in 1st going down the road or work car park. However, apparently I have a hole in my exhasut as my emissions were on the limit on the last MOT test but the tester couldn't actually find it. But once it warms up it makes...
I am going to swap my fog lights out and put in some air ducts, but I don't have any of the tools on me (a torx bit) to take them out to measure them, as I want to buy all the stuff and then go to my parents to fit/mod them.
I was going to put this in the fog light surround and then run a...
Love my Ph1. Would so have another. Great on track and a good car to drive daily, motorway driving is easy and still returns ~40mpg. Mine is a little impractical as its stripped out, but that is my fault!
Picked mine up for £750 from my step dad. But the cam belt did need changing and a good...
I like the F1's. Mine were black before orange, but they look better in a lighter colour IMO as the black tyres sets them off and you can see the spokes, before it looked like I just had dished wheels from a distance.
Bit scared of Camp after I spun it onto the infield (no damage as I didn't hit anything) and I always back off before Quarry just in case, but was very surprised how quick the Clio is around there; but previous cars I have driven around are a Triumph 2000 with a BMW engine in, aka a boat, and it...
I have a chip in mine and a massive crack in the lower left corner...passes through the MOT tet though so not fussed atm. When I upgrade my insurance to fully comp next month I am going to get it replaced.
Also mine is covered in crap like in the glass, the only thing I can think its like is...
Yes, drove my step dad's kit car on track which was an animal. And my brother's old 106 which was pushing 180bhp (did have it rolling road'd to prove this) and that was rapid.
Yes, I understand the diesel has a lot more torque, you can't really beat a 535d!! (if only I could afford one!)
it...
Does say "98ron recommended" on mine too. Wasn't sure if the extra cost of the fuel is balanced by the improved economy to continue running it. Although it did have a sharper throttle response but again not sure if that was like a placebo effect. Oh yeah, its shocking at low revs!! Pulling away...
Yeah I wouldn't normally be worried about other people's cars but this time I just got concerned about the health of mine, don't often get something I can use as a benchmark to see how mine is performing, I just want it running crisp and smooth as running too much power will be a handful for a...
After the near epic fail of my MOT test I need some new lights as the O/S one is misaligned and no idea how or why. Its the the LHD/RHD adjustment, it is as if the reflector bit is broken as the kick of the light goes completely the wrong way.
I am not a fan of the original ones off the Ph1...
I was going with a little more power he had but I am carrying a lot less weight so thought it could have been an even match, but again he did continue past the 70mph mark and not sure how hard he was trying, my exit of the roundabout was effortless and sure I could have pushed harder if I wanted...
Think I could be down on power and not sure why. I only think this as I came off a roundabout in a flamboyant manner the other day (2nd gear all the way up to the red line into 3rd before 5th as it was in a 70mph limit and stayed at 70) and the diesel Mondeo ST in front (56 plate it was) just...
I have bright orange with matching mirrors. I forgot to take into account my soft brake pads...wheels need cleaning once a week otherwise they turn black. And in the corner of the spokes is really hard to clean. However I love the colour and they are staying!!!
Black car with a deep red for...
I was determined to meet the 10 day deadline!! As I got mine tested at my parents so when it went wrong I could use the garage and tools there to fix it (as I don't live anywhere near my parents!) And seeing that it JUST passed on emissions and other modifications could be flagged up at another...
Well...this was a complete faf!!
My light alignment failed the other week on my MOT test, his note on the fail sheet said "O/S light aim too far left" which infact it was aim too far right!
Turns out the LHD/RHD drive bit on the dip light was on the LHD setting...no idea how as it was fine...
My car used to hesitate, especially pulling away in a high gear, but not as in too high a gear and going to stall. Turned out one of the spark plugs was loose (also had a similar problem when my step dad owned it and turned out to be a dodgey injector). If you have just changed the plugs, check...
My Ph1 isn't civilised....stripped out, lowered, loud exhaust, no stereo and orange wheels....yes, I sort of agree with this but not the burger bit!!! haha
I have also read that this evening digging around for help. However someone did also say that it can be done.
It's just confusing that it depends on who you talk to to if it can be done or not!
I paid £750 for my Ph1, did have 135k miles on the clock (147k miles now). Then I spent £500 on a new cam belt.
When I come to sell it in a few years I am not expecting mega bucks for it, I am just trying to retain some value in it with the things I am doing to it (although the orange wheels...
I've got a set of 15mm spacers I am going to put on the back of mine, need to get the bolts for it. But these go behind the hub - I think that's what my brother says, he knows and is helping me fit them!!
Not sure what to do with the fronts though...
I have read this too. But also read it can be done to swap the CV boot over. I saw someone post (cannot remember what forum it was) said "changing the drive shaft is the easy option, changing the gaiter is the swear at it for a few hours option"
Will have a better dig around on how to just...
Need to change the inner CV gaiter (O/S) as it failed the MOT Test on this, tried to look for some hints/tutorials and that but not really found much, other than it can be a pain.
Just really after like what to look out for, do I need to drain the gear box, how long will it take, specialist...
Got some new tyres fitted the other day. Tyres are fine, its the job the fitter did I am not pleased with.
Firstly, they have damaged the top of the rims and bashed off some of the paint. I know its not the end of the world, as really you cannot see it, but I know its there. Have touched this...
MOT Test time......
Well I had a test Friday and the car failed :( Three things: front shock was leaking, inner CV joint gaiter (off side) needs replacing and a mis-aligned light.
Fitted a new shock, as I had one I have been meaning to fit for a while (second hand just to get through the MOT...
