Built a Triumph 2000 with my Step Dad and brother as a track car years ago, put a 2.5ltr BMW engine in it. It did get loads of attention. Came for sale on eBay over the summer with no interest and left unsold. And for the cheek of it the guy said the paint had been rollered on :O how dare he...
Mine sometimes goes off when I am driving it, looks like I have stolen the car!! It is as if the alarm arms itself as soon as it un-arms. And if that Imprezza who parks by me at home drives up to my car and gives it a bit of throttle to set my alarm off again I am going to scream at him!!!
managed to get out and do some things on the car this weekend.
First was to fit my new filler flap
Thought it was a bit of fun really!!
Next I fitted my new steering wheel. This is the very nice and tidy job I did to fix the air bag light
its just a fused resistor bought from eBay, the guy...
I had a similar problem, like mine would come on when I turned the ignition on. WOuldnt turn off by the button but then did when the key was taken out. Happened when I was pulling up at the security gates at work and the guards all took a step back going "whuuuuut" thinking I was up to no good!
Apart from a good wash and wax today, managed to get the final colour on my fuel filler flap
Just need to sort the back out as its just primer with over spray, tempted to just paint it black to tidy it up, and the fact I already have a tin. Then a few coats of laquer to finish it off.
Got...
I know the same issue was had on my car when my brother and step dad put the new seats in. But They put a resistor in and the light doesnt show up and the MOT was passed.
I am about to change my steering wheel for a racing style deep dished suede one and will encounter the same problem. But a...
Mine has 143k which is about 10k/year which really isn't that bad. Despite being a track toy for a bit it has been looked after and it is only going to be looked after with regular services and that. Still feels like it can go on for another 140k!!
Its already stripped out as much as it can be without being rediculous! Although tempted to run no fron carpets....
A nice set of coil overs would be nice, however they are a bit expensive so may have to wait!.
Black stripes are nice, suits the blue well!! Something a little difference. Feels wrong not having stripes on my car as I have put them on every car I have owned :P
I had a whine on mine, security gaurds at work knew it was me before they saw me! It went when the cam and aux belts were changed.
Could be another belt on it and not the cam belt, so you may want to check again to see if the tension is a bit wrong on the others.
After getting mine done at a specialist I would say it was well worth the £500. At home we have done everything to cars (built them, put totally different engines in, repair) and pretty much any job that needs doing, but having a look under the Clio's bonnet there really isnt much space to...
Thought about doing this since I joined the other week, but not really done much in that week on the car! But thought I would just say what the plans are.
So the car has been owned since October 2012 as a replacement track day car for my step dad, brother and myself. This is it on the first...
Nothing has been touched on the engine, apart from being serviced often. I do run Standard Unleaded in it and not the Super Stuff, read mixed reviews on the benefits of using it.
Will look at a different mapping, see what this can do. Low revvs pulling wouldnt go a miss, as sometimes if I need...
Basically, what the title says!! I have just remebered this issue from last time I was at Castle Combe in the Clio. Coming out of Bobbies and the Esses was always a little tricky with what gear, as third was an ok gear to go into them to take it steady (I slow down a little for the corners so I...
It turns out my car doesn't want me to check the fluids and open the bonnet. It is now a two person job to open it! Someone has to pull the lever and the other has to gently persuade the bonnet to release with a little pull....my arms arn't long enough to reach inside the foot well and to the...
So you have to retro-fit all modifications done before August even if it passed the MOT last time around?
Glad I have seen this as I was going to fit a race style wheel to mine, and the ai bag will have to be removed. Although, I shouldnt need an air bag as I have harnesses and your face go...
The cider all went last night :(
Currently installing windows movie maker, will give that a go.
I know how I want a film to look and have plenty of ideas, but its actually getting shots and putting them together I struggle with! But with weather like today it would have been rude not to have...
I dont have WMM, I didn't know it could do that as I though it was super basic. Will have to find a download link.
Only have an iPhone 4s, would prefer to do it on my PC and not phone.
Will have to get some clips in the car on track next time I am out in it
After a free/cheap/reasonable legal video editing software.
Got to be able to cut film clips from longer files, add music and possible text.
Was using the GoPro software but as my camera isn't a GoPro it doesnt allow for files to be cut and certain sections removed.
Trying to make an edit of...
Doing a 2-3hr motorway journey crusing at 70mph in my 172:
The next day after a track session at Castle Combe
Average about 38-42 on the way to work, 12mile journey without having a heavy right foot that is.
Have found a tow strap in the garage, as you do (and a steering wheel boss for a Clio), and was going to fit it. But looking around at what people have done and need to do as it wont fit on because of the bumper and I dont want to cut it, so need to mount it on an angle bracket.
The holt in e...
Mine is just under 100dB as it just goes through sound testing on track days! Not sure what system it is and its not a straight through :( , looks a litty chavvy though, came on the car when it was purchased. Makes a bit more a racket than normal inside as it has no interior
