I recommend bramracing too for alignment! Potholes are terrible around Huddersfield 100% worse than they were before. I've had cars behind on multiple occasions mimic me as I avoid them all. b******s.
If you need a hand doing that star cog repair give me a shout
Where are people getting the 274 from then? I just popped over to napkins anyway and bought a 3.9 ohm resistor so can make 273.9 which will be fine with tolerance
Sorry, yeah it's to replace the buttons of the cruise on an aftermarket steering wheel. I just looked at the resistors and they have a brown tolerance band meaning they're 1% so the 270 one I have won't be good enough? I can go back over and get one higher if it is 274-300 but I've not read that...
Do you have some photos of the damaged gearbox? Just to back up what they're saying. I'm very surprised it's that bad if you havnt had crunches? Change the oil recently?

Fairly simple job, think there's a guide on here.
To be honest, I'd probably just opt for getting new discs altogether with brembo or renault (SKF I believe) bearings. You could get some pressed in though, just go for genuine bearings!
It's obviously hard to diagnose without hearing what the noise is, as there are just so many. Is it...
It could, but the bearings might not be of a good quality so may now be knackered. Jack the car up and rotate the wheel to have a listen or feel for ant grinding. Grab top and bottom of wheel and rock to see if any excess movement.
I can't say I've seen many people running those discs tbh. How...
