my back box decide to fall off today so i am going to replace the full system from the cat back - i am anticipating the nuts and bolts being corroded , what bits do i need ?thanks
be prepared to get bummed by Renault for about 8 quid for a bolt though. get some proper penetrating fluid instead of WD40 and you will get it off. if you take your time and it cleans up ok you may not need to replace it
cost saving if you are keeping the car as a new paper filter is £13 a time & thats for a pattern part! change it 3 times and you could have bought a panel which will last forever!
if its cold or been raining recently they will ne noisy and scratchey from cold ..... what pads have you got fitted ? have you inspected the pads to checked for a wedged stone in there or the like ?
yeah, a big thanks to cliosport i guess :) as for the doc, do a search for "mot vosa rear load sensor" and you should get it, sorry can't be of more help i am on my phone
I have JUST posted about this too (in General)
have you seen the VOSA document floating about? This advises that the rear linkage isnt fitted to cups and as i understand you shouldnt fit one. It also covers the low braking efficiency on the rear.
Go a call yesterday to say my cup had failed the MOT becuase the brake load sensing linkage was missing from the rear...bells began to rang as i immediately thought of the threads i had read on here in the past about a similar issue..a quick check of my phone and this confirmed it...anyway went...
What have you got, I am still considering my options for the 172 cup however worried it will look silly if not recessed in the bumper (dont want to cut)
So what pictures have you got?
I have some EBC Ultimax pads (not sure if they are same as the KTEC ones) - i got these from ebay for about £18 - coupled with my Brembo HC's cant fault them to be honest , especially for £63 all in
you can try a socket whilst the car is on the ground, chance are it wont budge (just twist the damper insert) therefore you will need the dog leg spanner to allow you to secure the thread with an allen key
