It depends what your used to, compared to modern stuff with super fast electric PAS, the steering feels heavy, compared to older stuff it will feel lighter!
one of the best mods you can do to them imo, I've done it to every one I've owned, the smoother idle and cold start behaviour is a nice advantage but for me the extra mid range and raised limiter is much nicer!
Yes I did! Removed the main connector from the abs pump, gave it a good clean with contact cleaner, plugged it in and out a few times, blew it out with compressed air and re fitted, was all good after that!
Great buy, next to nothing to go wrong! - even cable throttle!
I run about in a ph1 with the same engine, terrifying trying to join the motorway from a short slip road :ROFLMAO:
Couple of jobs carried out this week on the 197. First up was a set of 4x Michelin PS4 - long overdue, never been so glad to get rid of the Landsail budget crap that it came with - totally transformed it as expected!

Shocks & Springs
front hubs to match the shocks (ie. if you use 182 cup shocks, use 182 cup hubs)
front Anti roll Bar
Front lower arms
track rods/ends
brakes
Driveshafts
You will need to research what you do with the ABS, I'm not sure if the...

Tragic coming from the company that brought us this video :ROFLMAO:
with you on the diesel thing, my mrs was looking at a Zoe but i convinced her to go for a mk5 DCi and its epic on fuel as expected!
